  1. I don't use Facebook because I keep forgetting my password. Lol In all seriousness, it's not private. Basically, the same reasons as other pp were mentioning on the first page.
  2. I think what you are doing is great. It sounds like you had a productive week to me. :) The beauty of homeschooling is that you can do this at your own pace. Thanks for keeping us posted.
  3. We used the train game from phonics pathways. Start with just 2 letters. Generally, a consonant and a vowel (short). Put the consonant in your right hand and the vowel in the left hand. Put them together sounding out the letters. Get faster as the hands approach each other. We did this til they got the hang of it. Hth
  4. WWE is worthy of other aspects. If you feel its overkill, then minimize the copywork in WWE.
  5. I was taught these helpful tricks as well here in America. I graduated 1994. Perhaps SparkyUnicorn and I went to the same schools. Lol
  6. I forgot to mention that the above is for k-3. For 3-4, how about a book club? There's a book titled Deconstructing Penguins that could help you start off.
  7. 1. Physics. There's a elementary physics book I think by Keller. I'm not sure because my phone won't let me open another tab right now. It lists 10 simple activities. Of course for each lesson you can google for more activities to fulfill the hour. 2. Science Hands on Activities by the critical thinking co. There's a k-3 one. We did this over the summer. Again not sure if the title is correct. I really liked this one. Hth
  8. Blues Clues, Little Einsteins, Octonauts, Wild Kratts, The Cat in the Hat, Peg plus Cat.
  9. Any chance we can get a discount somewhere. :)
  10. I provide a separate sheet of paper(s) for the doodling.
  11. Thank you Chris in VA. I didn't think to look for them on pinterest. Probably because I always forget my password. :P
  12. Thank you Raining Pineapples and Lucy the Valiant (you are funny). I just watch the video and it looks great. Thanks for the tip about the pack for science. Lucy - The photos are an excellent idea!
  13. Well not to add to your dilemma, but there's jousting armadillo as well. I'm not there yet, but I think it's intro to algebra. :) I'm following because I'm curious myself.
  14. Wow! This is great info! :) I'll definitely get the kits. Thanks so much FairProspects.
  15. Toys r us has a deal going on this month. Something about buying $75 worth of legos and get a free brick set. I'm hoping to go to the store today to find out more. :) I'm guessing you just use bricks with the geometric equations? I'm definitely going to buy a bunch of bricks. Thanks for your idea OneStepAtATime.
  16. Hello, Someone just told me that they use lego express to build for The Sentence Family. What a fantastic idea! Does anyone else use certain legos for a curriculum? Thanks for any suggestions.
  17. Wow! This is great! Thanks so much. I didn't know that there was a lego express build. This is better than my laminations! :) Thanks a bunch.
  18. This is a great website! We just did hats today. thanks!
  19. I think you're fine. My 4 yo plays with her older brother, legos, kinetic sand, play mobile, everyday. She also has ballet and gymnastics. We also play outside and with paint and play dough. We don't have as many play dates as you. So I think she'll be fine. I'm not much of a crafty person so I don't do anything like what's on pintrest. :)
  20. I'm not very creative, as you can see from my username. lol sometimes I need explicit instructions. :)
  21. oh I see, so with the legos thing you just have them build the characters while you explain to them what they are? or would one explain the characters first and then have them build?
