  1. I will say I have chunks of my kids babyhoods that I don’t remember - I think purely due to sleep deprivation. How was his sleep? Edited to say I somewhat lean towards Covid or bipolar because of the fact symptoms resolved. The other issues don’t seem to have a possibility of resolution without medical intervention
  2. Could be so many things… Covid brain fog, tumour, bipolar, some kind of vitamin shortage. Think there was a similar case here that was tapeworm or something like that though I’m vague about the details. Glad he’s getting it looked into anyway.
  3. I definitely do not have the headspace for this… Im going to plant some more vegetables, order some masks, replace the sanitiser and hope it all goes away!!!
  4. This is the thing. It’s all very reassuring about human to human spread etc. less reassuring for those who work closely with birds and livestock…
  5. One has so many nicknames we have managed to convince some people we have more than one kid! Her main one came from my sister about a week after she’s born so that had staying power. Another came from playing with her middle name. Others are more random. One of my other kids nickname came from a cute misspelling of his name by my oldest at the time and has stuck. Oldest doesn’t really have one although his name occasionally gets lengthened.
  6. Praying she is safe and gets the help she needs
  7. The White Giraffe was my daughter’s favourite book for a long time. It’s one of the few books I ended up buying a copy of because she checked it out of the library often. That is a great book collection.
  8. Australia… UK… and many others People are sick of hearing about viruses and cost of living pressures mean no one has mental space to deal. So I just hope H5N1 decides to go away or self limit
  9. Thanks for starting a separate thread. The biggest worry is that many chunks of the world do not have the will or ability to deal with something else so soon after Covid.
  10. https://www.abc.net.au/listen/programs/nt-country-hour/chief-vet-nt-cattle-deaths-on-live-export-ship/103641020 looks like early indications are that it was botulism but not yet confirmed. Are cattle vulnerable to Covid? I’m assuming they can carry it if white tail deer can.
  11. There was a live export cattle ship that left here that had a significantly higher than usual number of cattle deaths. No cause identified as yet as far as I know: we don’t seem to have much bird flu yet if any from what I’ve heard and our bio security is quite strict so it’s likely a coincidence but odd timing.
  12. I would do an orange brown or red to break up the green a bit. Maybe sweet potato or roast capsicum. Maybe something with a bit of heat?
  13. Yeah. The latest indication that it’s potentially transmitting in dairy cattle seems concerning. Even if not for affecting humans for affecting the food supply.
  14. 👋 I think I only manage to get on these threads on my less busy days 😞 I have two teens away and one kid at home, plus DH is working shift. I planned a cleaning marathon but the vacuum decided to block up totally yesterday. So I cleaned out all filters etc but they need a 24hr dry time. So far it’s nearly lunch time and I’ve eaten breakfast, fed pets and done some yoga. I did scrub the shower while I was in there though it needs way more scrubbing. I need to - do a police report for an accident we witnessed - clean up my schoolroom chaos - finish some prep work for Sunday school for the next couple of weeks - drive and check on friends pets while they’re away - cook quince paste or figure out what to do with tonnes of excess quinces - check bank/finances and if we have money for it order DS English for next term (why does MCT have to be so good but so expensive!!!) once vacuum filters are dry start a bit of deep cleaning. It feels weird having an Easter chunk of time off right now knowing there’s two weeks then school holidays after the break. My brain wants to go into holiday mode but knows it can’t. So I’m in a bit of a procrastination cycle.
  15. I love love our moka pot. It always tastes great, goes through the dishwasher so easy clean up, super easy to make coffee, no plastic waste. You can’t do variety though other than adding more or less milk etc, but it’s worth it for the better taste and simplicity imo.
  16. Yep! My lovely old neighbour bought me granny undies as a Christmas gift one year. I didn’t like to throw them out but didn’t wear them forever and a day… until one day in a washing crisis I put them on and my life changed! Granny undies are the best.
  17. This reminds me of our visit to Kings Canyon. All the toilet blocks had mini half doors at the entrance. We found out why when someone left one open. The dingoes had a thing for soap and would go into the shower blocks and try to steal soap from people’s toiletries or that had been left behind.
  18. Oh yes. I think if you wanted to completely “rebirth” yourself you’d need to make a new account with a new email.
  19. I would talk about bushfires, Australia, or whatever random event is going on in the world and give myself away in no time. I’m also quite slack about grammar and spelling on the forum.
  20. Yep! Normally I can pick people under a new ID but not this time. However I think she had good reason to change and I’m happy to respect privacy 🙂
  21. I’ve listened to A Passage to India. I’ve read it before but somehow literally remembered nothing. I’m also rereading a Georgette Heyer comfort read, as I just need something fluffy to get me through the end of term.
  22. I’m so glad you like it. I really enjoyed reading it; I felt like it kind of resonated with how the pandemic felt, and the story itself was great as well.
  23. Totally up to you! And of course you’re not rude to not leave soap out, most people travel with their preferred personal hygiene products anyway. It’s probably just a nice touch that made the host feel like she was doing something special. I used to love doing that or choccies or something when we were first married and kid free and I had a guest room!
  24. I haven’t seen @Night Elf in a while but did she maybe came back with a different identity. I’m glad to hear Quill is still around under a new name.
