As I said when I started the thread, I’m not usually a royal watcher or speculator at all. But when major non-sensational news agencies were commenting on the photoshopped image it definitely made me think something was up. Had that never been released, I think most mainstream people would not have got into the discussion at all. I think most in this thread fit that description. Yes, there’s people that are always speculating and spreading rumours about the royal family. This was a different situation to that, and had the original plan to not go with anything to the public until Easter this would have remained in the domain of the royal gossip/speculation type people. Releasing the photoshopped image meant many more people started wondering what on earth was going on. Now we know, I imagine most of us will feel sympathy for her and go back to leaving her be. I don’t think it’s fair to lump those who had genuine concern about what seemed like a pretty weird situation in with the usual rumour mongers around the royal family.

If you can afford help get help. They have for sure seen worse and long term illness is a sufficient explanation. otherwise yeah. Baby steps. I don’t have long term illness just exhaustion and too much work. I need to do a big school holidays clean or we drown.

So I have seen multiple posts on Twitter this afternoon blaming either the vax or multiple Covid infections. Didn’t take long.

Yes, definitely it was the right decision to share now. I think if they hadn’t shared the previous photoshopped images it wouldn’t have become such a big deal. Prior to that it was only fringe conspiracy theorists that were interested (or super Megan/Harry fans)

That is so sad 😞 It makes sense why they weren’t ready to say anything yet. If it’s stomach or bowel cancer, she’s likely been in a lot of pain. I hope they caught it early and her treatment is successful. I feel kind of bad for starting the thread now but everything just really didn’t seem to add up. Hopefully now they have put out a statement she can be given the space she needs to deal with this.

I noticed shingles increasing pre Covid. I think there’s some evidence that reexposure to chicken pox is protective. So we are increasing the rate of shingles temporarily but hopefully decreasing it for the next generation who are vaccinated and won’t catch it. (Hopefully)

Just as a counterpoint I guess to previous comments DH is first responder and they have been to crashes in older vehicles and it’s not pretty. Anything pre 2010 pretty much. Crashes that would be relatively minor with newer airbag tech are fatalities in older cars.

I love the look but DH doesn’t like me hanging artwork (I’m not the best at straight, square, lining things up) and he never gets around to doing it. I suspect he actually just likes bare walls.

I have this in my schoolroom for the kids art. admittedly they were Kmart branded shelving and one of them decided to randomly collapse so now I just have some holes where that was! I liked how easy it was to change out the artwork.

The chin is much pointier but it is a side-on distant video. I am not hugely into the royals so probably haven’t seen many pics of Kate not made up. She also doesn’t walk the same way, but again, I’ve only see video that’s on major news headlines etc where she’s at formal events so maybe it’s just every day Kate versus formal Kate. Hopefully come Easter there’s some kind of official thing because I’m pretty sure I’ve wasted enough time on it, and I want to go back to my usual royal ignoring self. The bigger issue here to me is how much more difficult it is becoming to believe video, photos etc.

I have to be honest my first reaction to the video was it really doesn’t look like her face. However maybe if she has lost a lot of weight it is. The photo that was supposed to be of her the other day showed her with a really round face, so that’s a bit weird.

They are great photos! We have tonnes of kangaroos, and the occasional emu or koala but have never seen a wallaby outside a wildlife park around here. They always look more moody than kangaroos somehow

FWIW, we have that system in SA and it’s really a non-issue. They do not check you follow the curriculum as long as you have something that approximately fits in each subject criteria. That said, the QLD education department tends to be a pain so if they write it into law they’ll probably make your lives miserable with it.

This ran in the ABC. The second author of the study was the QLD health minister who was responsible for the decision to drop many COVID restrictions. There’s a huge conflict of interest.

In terms of schoolwork I do have two days where I work during school hours and he stays home with an older sibling. I find things with very clear and defined parameters get done- anything remotely vague and not explicitly spelled out gets left. Having a written checklist helps and having a minute to message and check he’s on task helps. One of my days I have two hours at home before I leave when we smash through critical stuff, the other day I use for him to watch AOPS videos and practice weak areas on IXL. He also has one online class but it doesn’t have any follow up bookwork or homework.

I haven’t until 14. I do when older siblings are home though. One of the factors in my decision is that we are rural and our only trusted neighbours are rarely home. If anything happens and they need to ring for help it’s likely to be at least 15-20 minutes away.

They’re actually banned in schools here statewide. DDs school allows them to keep them in their bags as long as they don’t come out. It’s a bit frustrating because if there’s any change of plans on pickup etc I need to catch her immediately school finishes and hope she picks up. However I can see why it’s necessary.

Yes. I don’t buy into the more out there conspiracy theories but I think if she’s more seriously ill than let on they would probably try to avoid showing that right now.

I must admit if she did she’s probably having a bit of a chuckle over how much drama her photoshopping experimentation caused if she didn’t whoever posted that is really desperate

I think it’s most likely legitimate of the kids and Kate has been photoshopped in. And maybe she’s just not feeling ok to be photographed right now which is fine. I also hope she’s recovering ok.

The other things people are commenting on are no rings on Kate’s hand, and the trees are green which is apparently unseasonal
