How are your friends driving? Because we always got over 30mpg in our Fit. Purely interstate driving would always get me 35 mpg. Combining it would always depend on traffic. It was one of the main reasons I was really sad to let it go.

We had a 2007 Fit that we sold a few months ago because we needed to upgrade to a van and got more money for that than the 2002 mazda. The fit gets great mileage, is very roomy, has great storage, and since its a Honda it'll last for years! Even for a long car trip it was terrible in the back. We drove 6 hours with an infant in the middle seat and 2 adults on the sides and they were as comfortable as they'd be in any other 5 seated I've been in.

Don't hint just be very obvious about it. I made sure I got dh's attention and told him, " hint hint a game I want for Christmas is on sale today. It's on my wish list and its ravenburger. Hint hint hint. And by hint I mean you should purchase it for me." Even with that I doubt he'll get it. He usually does his shopping late in December. I will also be telling my mil because she loves buying off lists. Also she needed ideas for ds and one of the games he wants is also on that sale today.

Love taboo and own it. When I say we have a lot of games I mean a lot! But somehow we manage a good rotation so getting new ones still makes sense since we do t play them a few times and forget them

My 2 oldest started reading at 3. I started phonics pathways with my oldest at 3.5 because he kept asking to teach him bigger words. I startedmy middle with phonics pathways at 3.5 because she wanted to do what her brother was doing. My 22 month old insists that he gets his phonics lesson after his siblings are done so even he's doing phonics pathways. But really with him I just point to the letters and he tells me the sound. No blending going on yet with him. It I suspect he'll read around the same time they did. Of course I still played letter games and such with all of the!. Phonics was just a simple 5 minutes a day to satisfy their want for a book specifically.

Scattergories is another family favorite! We don't have the other 2 but gave family who do so they get pulled out at certain holidays

Thanks for the suggestions all! I'm considering pandemic but I think someone is getting him arkham horror so I'm hesitant to get two cooperative games like that. Sadly any game that is fast paced like that is a no go. I am way too fast for him and can see the options too quickly. I have a hard time finding anyone who can challenge me in those kinds of games. He does play them with other people though.

I'm looking for board game suggestions. We have an extensive boardgame collection and love adding to it. We're happy with 2 player games for just the both of us or games for as many people as possible because we have a boardgame night every few months with friends. Here are some of the games we have. Jean, if your dh and sil have power of attorney over your parents I believe they can legally sell your fil's car and hence not have to deal with his driving issue. They would also have to make it so he is not able to access his own money so he can't just purchase a new one. I believe they would be able to do so since they have power of attorney. I

For those who feed raw, care to share your mixtures and the approx cost per month(weight of dog would be useful too.) I'm considering raw but just not mentally their yet. I am all for it its just the added hastle of not being able to just buy a bag and scoop. That may sound really lazy but right now I'm having a hard enough time finding the energy to feed my family properly so the dogs are on the back burner until after this baby comes and I'm used to a new family routine.

Completely normal in my opinion but I have night Ares like that too occasionally. If it were a nightly thing I'd be concerned but its common to dream about things that worry you even if you consciously don't know its worrying you

That would never be something that warranted an immediate trip to the vet in my house. Most likely the dog will throw up a bunch, have intestinal issues for the next day or so but nothing that can't just run its course. Of course if they got into something that was poisonous to them I'd take them to the vet.

My oldest 2 are 17 months apart. The third is roughly 3 years younger than the middle child but that happened because I had a miscarriage between the two of them. I'm expecting my next in Feb so that one will be 2 years younger than my current youngest. I have no cons with these age gaps. I wanted my children close in age so I wouldn't get out of one stage and feel like I was starting all over. I also wanted them to be close in age developmentally so they had someone they could play with on roughly the same level as them. So far it has worked out wonderfully. For me personally, I would hate a 5 year age gap between my 2 youngest because I don't transition well to huge changes and going from being out of toddler/infant stage and then being thrown back into it would affect me very badly.

Depends on what you consider appropriate. The only criteria I put on Dr who episodes is will it scare my kids. They are 4 and almost 6 and can watch any episode I don't think will scare them. I've seen them all so I know which ones to skip. But some people have issues with adult innuendo that in my opinion goes over most children's heads.

Thanks Jean. The new Dr delivers out of the hospital I'm comfortable at so I think I'm good. He's the backup Dr for the birth center I was at so he's used to late in the pregnancy transfers so he'll happily see me. With my dd's csection the anesthesiologist put the spinal block too high causing me to go entirely numb and not be able to breath on my own. I was conscious so being aware of the fact that you can't breath for youself was horrifying. I also had no idea what was going on. All I knew was I couldn't breath, move, or open my eyes, but I could hear everything that was going on. It felt like I was like that for hours and all I could do was pray I'd come out of it and worry that I may never see my family again. It left a scar. I won't be able to be fearless until after the baby comes and I'm out of the OR but at least I know that I can control my emotions at the hospital it didn't happen at because I did so when my youngest was born. Going to the hospital it happened at is apparently something I'm not ready for.

Well after an awful night of sleeping and a panic attack I realized I'm not OK with going to the hospital my new Dr delivers out of so I will not be going to my appointment today. Long story but essentially the anesthesiologist messed up and I'm mentally scarred from it. I thought I was over it but as my first appointment date with new Dr approached it became clear I wasn't. So I woke up and called a different Dr and I'll be seeing them next weds! Now that I've gotten over that issue time to tackle the day. -get school done -quick clean upstairs rooms -vacuum upstairs -get laundry put away(I forgot about it yesterday!) -ds acrobatics -list some books -who knows what else

We put gifts for relatives that we'll be seeing on the 24th and 25th under the tree as gifts get wrapped. Gifts for my dh go under the tree whenever also. All the gifts for the kids get put under after midnight Mass

I picked other because I tend to do all of them, minus a craft.

I say do it! I want to school year round but I agreed to teach my nephew at home this year and my sister needed him to follow a public school schedule because of his other 2 siblings. If/when I am no longer helping out with him I would school year round in a heart beat. And if I were you I'd certainly stop now and start up again in Jan.
