  1. March!

      Chelle in MO

Hee, hee! I was thinking, "Yes, Sir!" when I saw it!

  2. Oh. Sorry, forgot. We have some group activities in which everyone participates (draw write now., read aloud, calendar, salsa spanish, art, etc.)
  3. We school year round and every day. It is just part of daily life. We don't have to do as much each day with the consistent schedule. I keep some working at the dining table with me while others play together on the floor in the kitchen. We only have 4 dc so far...
  4. Hmmm. I was going to attend our state conf this spring in the hopes of meeting some fellow crunchy granola friends. Maybe I should stick to the farmers markets for meeting like minded people with young kids.
  5. Moongobble and Me series Louise The Adventures of a Chicken Magic Tree House series Wind in the Willows Half Magic
  6. When I talked to the rep on the phone she also said the option to choose snacks was forthcoming. They are also working on improving the website. They are a start up company less than one year old. They were very responsive on the phone. Maybe you should give them a call about processing and the proximity to nuts.
  7. We subscribe. The packages are small but that helps because they are an appropriately sized snack. They are expensive but they are also good quality food. I got the subscription for my partner for Valentine's Day (She has a lot of food sensitivities). It arrives at her office the middle of each month. It has been great.
  8. Moongobble and Me, Magic Tree House, Louise The Adventures of a Chicken or any others of her books, Half Magic,
  9. Leave the house (take the kids with you). Take a walk at the y or the mall. Go to a kids museum or the library. It may feel overwhelming getting out the door but it can really help your perspective and mood. If you need to put off your typical hs curric. right now you can catch up later. Snuggle and read books together. Get some science or history dvd from the library. Rent some audiobooks from the library so the third grader can listen alone to information. Get your 3rd grader some wkbks that can be done independently(Kumon, Math Mammoth). Take time for the family to gel. It will all work out.
  10. When they finish 100 Easy Lessons we start spelling, dictation, and copy work.
  11. Wendi, You still need the hdmi. There is a small box that connects via hdmi to the tv. It is wireless to the ipad though.
  12. Washington DC Denver CO Seattle WA San Francisco CA Chicago IL
  13. How to Teach Spelling/How to Spell also gets my vote.
  14. A closet organizer might also help reduce shelf clutter.
  15. Not sure because I can't see the windowed wall or determine how long the room is but could the bunk beds come into the middle of the room (turned 90*) to allow more access to the shelves?
  16. For apps I agree with Dragon Dictate. I also like Netflix and Google Earth. It's not an app but I would suggest apple tv. It mirrors your ipad onto the tv wirelessly. This is great for showing educational clips. Then you don't have to be huddled around the ipad to watch. Also it is a good way to be more aware of what your dc is doing online. It is hard to see what dc has up on the screen but it becomes obvious when it is on the tv.
  17. We love apple tv! We are using Salsa Spanish this way.
  18. My Mom was wiccan. We loved going to this place in NY that was a very cool new age and Earth centered religious community. It was always so peaceful. We would have our cards read, aura drawn, and go to the listening stump to hear some folks speak. My best memories of my Mom are our trips there.
  19. I've not yet gone to a hs conference but was thinking of trying ours this year. It is in May. I'm a little concerned about how christian it will be. It's a state-wide conference, but locally it is so christian that I'm preparing myself. However I hope to be surprised and meet at least one crunchy granola friend. I'm not very social IRL but thought I would try. If nothing else it's an excuse to buy more books and curriculum!
