  1. We had it at my parents house with the pasta dishes that I had made ahead of time. I asked some good friends that weren't in the wedding to help with the serving and clean up afterward.
  2. I'm not sure that I can totally agree with this as my father is the younger brother and my mother is the girl that his older brother liked. My mother never was interested in my Uncle though and they were 20ish when this all happened.
  3. My husband and I really enjoyed Atlantis when we went back in 2001. It is very pricey and I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it as much if I had to pay for the trip. He won the trip in a sales contest. If you have the money, I'd go since your dh has wanted to check it out for awhile.
  4. My son received "Math Adventure to the Moon" for Christmas and he really enjoys it.
  5. I agree!! Celebrate your mom's birthday but take time to celebrate your precious son too! He was a hero!!!
  6. Unless she did something like Priceline where you name your own price. There you have to pay up front. She should have definitely spoken to the OP before booking a room!!
  7. I'm going to address your second question...... No, it is not weird for you to have another baby that is younger than your grandson. I have 5 cousins that are older than my Uncle. I am only 5 years younger than that Uncle. Perfectly normal in my family! ;)
  8. I have a new kitty that I tried to name Sasha but my son kept calling her Tasha. I also had an Alexandria who was called Alex.
  9. Actually, My Ex-Mother-in-Law is from France from the area around Lille. But her family of birth are gypsies and she grew up traveling in caravans. They speak some other language that they spoke when they wanted to talk about me or about "private" matters. I've always loved Hugette. She is really sweet and also blunt.
  10. I thought that this was what she was saying but I wasn't sure.
  11. It was on Facebook. My ex-mother-in-law wrote it to her niece.
  12. My dh is 45 and he still likes his "toys". They've just changed a bit ;) My son is 13 and loves his toys still.
  13. So do you think that the writer is basically telling the addressee to mind her own business and to butt out?
  14. Can anyone help me translate this??? I think that I understand most of it but I'm not sure if it is a rebuke or a philosophical statement.....
  15. I first had Nutella in 1986 for breakfast on a baguette in France with a big bowl of cafe au lait. Yummy!!! It brings back such fond memories. I'm glad it is easier to find here in the States now!!
  16. Grammar Question: This question was posted by one my "Friends" on Facebook.... So is it "Who else's would it be?"or "Whose else would it be?" My wife doesn't believe me, even though I'm the certified LA teacher. While I think that there is a better way to ask the question, which of these choices would be correct? I made my pick but I'm not confident in my choice.
  17. Choices should have been between "Who else's would it be?"or "Whose else would it be?"
  18. I never get it right....I'm always asking myself....Is it grammer or grammar. I picked the wrong one this time! :D
