    Older DD finally got her braces off...just in time for younger DD to get an evaluation appointment.

      Girl, feel for me as I have two in braces and my oldest is going BACK into braces for the second time next week! The last child hopefully will wait another year or so. The office is incredulous. My wallet is too.

    A ferret joined our family today. At least DD12 is thrilled about it. Me...not so much.

      One of sister's adult children "dumped" on a ferret on her. She came to really love the little guy. Hope it works out. :)

    I knew the mild winter would catch up with us, but blizzard-like conditions on April 30 are a bit much.

      Yep. It was a hit-and-run snow storm for us yesterday. It started on Friday, got a good few inches, and it's mostly gone now.

    It's so depressing to take down Christmas decorations, especially with subzero temps in the forecast and a long winter ahead.

      We just found a vcr and kids have watched, Frosty, Mickey's Christmas Carol, and a few other great shows! I left a wreath over the fireplace for now :)

    Just watched Hugh Jackman in a 1999 performance of Oklahoma! It's streaming on PBS Great Performances.

    Earlier today, my girls started arguing over which one would get to have a pet unicorn if having unicorns as pets were possible. They also fought over the name. Sigh.

    Baby, it's cold inside! I think I need an A/C parka. The silliest part is that it's only in the low 70s outside.

    So many cleaning projects today that I don't know where to start.

    DH is "cleaning up" our big bookshelf, and it's stressing me out. We do have books we should probably give away, but getting rid of books makes me twitchy.
