  1. There are quite a few listed on Your Free Homeschool.
  2. I used the excuse that I was sick, but yeah, I gave up after my doctor's appointment Wednesday.
  3. My kids are doing it and enjoying it very much. They also made an animated Christmas card with this Hour of Code activity from Learnstreet.
  4. My Scotch laminator is packed up in storage so I'm snagging this one to use while we're staying with my mom. Thanks for the heads up!
  5. Oh wow, that's even easier, thanks! I can't wait to get back to my home, and this just makes it even sweeter.
  6. My family will be relocating from New York to Georgia in a couple of weeks. If I'm reading things right, it appears the only thing that has to be submitted to the school district is a letter of intent. Is that correct?
  7. A couple of times I have, in all seriousness, told my oldest that I would enroll him in school if his behavior continued to be a distraction to my being able to teach his younger brother. I never make a threat I'm not 100% willing to follow through on, so he knows I'm serious and so far it hasn't had to come to that. I wouldn't make such a decision lightly, but both of my children deserve the best education I can provide, and if one of my kids doesn't want to learn, I'm not going to let that prevent me from being able to teach the other.
  8. "People have been shot for less." I am trying to imagine a scenario where this would be the appropriate thing to say to an unfamiliar person outside of some type of gun safety training. I am pro-2nd amendment and was raised in a family of gun owners, but we never talked about the possibility of a person being shot so casually.
  9. If you can fit it in your budget, definitely stay in the downtown historic district.
  10. Looks like we will be getting a refund, so that's a relief.
  11. Thanks everyone for your advice. I really appreciate the outside perspective. We've decided he'll be grounded from electronics, but not from spending time with his friends, and that he will have to repay us by doing extra chores and giving up his can money for awhile.
  12. This is possible, and I've been doing my best to shelter both of the kids from a lot of the difficult things going on, but some of it is unavoidable. He doesn't get an allowance right now, but he has been allowed to turn in cans for money. I have still purchased little surprises for him over the last year when I find deals so that he wouldn't feel like he was being deprived. I've tried to make his life remain as normal as possible for as long as possible, but some things like if we have to move, we're not going to have a choice about.
  13. My husband already feels guilty for not locking down his computer before he went to bed. He forgot and ds took advantage of the opportunity. I don't blame my husband. It was an honest mistake.
