    OK, so I'm browsing through albums, filling in digital gaps. Three versions of Who's Next available! One is over 2-1/2 hours long, another an hour twenty. Serious, who needs that? Why? The original album was 45 minutes and perfect.

      Go into your settings and manually change the time forward three hours. Go back to candy crush. Immediately go back to settings and change the time back. The lives stay. Free refills! :)

      They've shut down the Lewis and Clark ride! A new big roller coaster will take its place next year, somehow going OVER the go-karts, while the Looping Thunder will be retired and its space used for additional parking.

       

      Not Back to School Day is on their calendar for September 6. :D

    Sanctimoniously declaring, "I don't care what it looks like, as long as it's functional," does more often than not result in the eating of one's words when, as is inevitable, the cheapest colour choice is hot pink.

      Ha! That didn't even enter my mind. I don't dislike hot pink because it's girlie, I dislike it because it's the only colour worse than puce. The item in question is ear buds.

      At the hospital where my youngest sometimes goes for treatment, the parking level that inevitably has open spaces is painted in a shade of hot pink literally painful for me to look at.

      I feel much the same way. Something about the colour makes me turn away and shield my eyes as if it's too bright to handle.

    DD the Elder is at camp in the San Juan Islands for the next 10 days. Without a single book. Camp she can handle, but book withdrawal? We'll see how bad she's shaking when she gets back.

    Please don't schedule a meet-up ten minutes before I'm due to arrive at my coffee shop, desperate for my morning's fix. The line was out the door and down the block. And do young people these days drink *anything* that doesn't involve complicated preparation? Fortunately, one of the baristas took pity on me and slipped me a self-consciously plain coffee (I prepay), and dog and I slinked away. :P

      I learned earlier this week that "jade" is an archaic term for crabby or disreputable old woman. "Jaded" comes from this meaning. Now I know what it takes to jade me. :P

    After years of neglect by US West, then Qwest, then Century Link, our neighborhood has finally been upgraded for high speed Internet: 40 Mbps, here we come! Though part of me is still expecting a "Ha, ha!" call tomorrow. (I'd still dump them in a second if Google Fiber comes to Portland.)

      A door-to-door guy from Comcast was by a few weeks ago, and couldn't quite grasp my, "I'd rather decapitate myself slowly with a dull knife than ever deal with Comcast again." He tried a, "But...," before I gave up and just told him to put me down as a "no."
