Fellow Ontarian here. :) Well, until about 12 years ago anyway.

I'm just wondering why you post in bold? I find it very difficult to read and often end up skipping over your longer posts.

How did One is One work out for you? I apologize for my hazy memory... I'd skimmed through it a year ago and forgot about Emile and Pagan's deaths in the interim. We just finished it... thankfully my little one isn't sensitive about stuff like this. I do love this book though; the historical detail is fascinating without being stodgy and overwhelming.

Sorry that locked thread got so nasty. I came back this morning and was shocked at a couple of the comments made. Gosh, I remember my oldest as a wee baby literally screaming at me if I didn't want to read *another* book or (by about 15 months) talk for hours about letters and numbers and take dictation from her.
