  5. I think the "tackle" police are going to come and arrest me. It's 4 o'clock and I've done next to nothing. I woke up this morning, ate breakfast and decided I was in too much pain to do anything. Took 2 Advil and went back to bed for a few hours. Done: Bathed and dressed Sorted through some letters and photos and boxed up Ate lunch Had kids tidy up school room Gathered up books to return to library To do: School work
  6. I agree. I'd leave it unless there's an overriding reason that you have to replace the sinks. I think they look fine as they are.
  7. I have a "family plan" with my ds through Sienna, which is a provider for Verizon - we pay $19.95/mo for 150 shared minutes (rollover), and texts are an additional 10 cents each. I don't know if that's a better deal than what you currently have but it was the cheapest I found for 2 phones. As I said, they do use Verizon so you should be able to keep your old phones if you want and port over your numbers easily. I've had a good experience with their customer service, and they are pay-as-you-go with no contract. They are a pro-life group that donates a percentage of your phone bill to your choice of charity each month, if that influences you one way or the other. 9. I've seen most of the seasons but after a while they all run together. Season 5 was one of the best. Season 6 was good once the awful Jonathan and Victoria were gone. Season 8 was the Family Edition - that was horrible; skip it. Season 19 was good and 21 was good although I thought it had sort of a disappointing ending. I liked this last season, too (22).
  10. Sort of, and No. :D Rabbits are usually pretty much self-cleaning, like cats. But the kids haven't been doing a great job taking care of his cage and his hiney is looking dirty, plus when we let him out in the backyard he likes to dig and he gets his paws all muddy. So it's more of a sponge bath than a full immersion.
  11. Yeah, I'd toss them with some olive oil and some spices or herbs - you can use garlic salt or paprika or rosemary or parsley or just salt and pepper. Bake at 450ish for 20-25 minutes? Might take a little longer.

  14. Me too *sigh*. I just seem to have a lot less tolerance for people's stupidity. Maybe I need to try coconut oil. Or a brain transplant.

  16. My favorite tool is the rake. I like raking - you can see that you've accomplished something :) I have lots of favorite plants but I really like herbs and scented geraniums. My favorite Oreos are the double stuffed kind.
  17. Yes, I baked bread last week, and dropped in off Sat afternoon. Then I had a bad night Sat and didn't make it to church on Sunday, so I'm not sure if they used my bread or not...they could have frozen it and saved it but not likely. I called my friend to see if she knew and she was pretty sure they had used it. I don't want to call Father because they just had a death in the family and I know things are hectic right now, so I am baking some more. I don't mind, I just wish I would have found out earlier! Better safe than sorry, IFYKWIM.
  18. Tress, yikes. :grouphug: I got an email a couple of hours ago from my priest thanking me for baking bread for tomorrow. ??? I didn't know I had promised to bake bread for tomorrow. I will obviously be up late. Drinking coffee now to stay awake.
  19. Spent most of the morning at the Friends of the Library warehouse book sale. Found lots of good books, just what I need, right? Ha. Going to catch up on some laundry today and try clearing off the computer desk.
  20. Another thought is that some Family Courthouses have child care centers, where the children stay while their parent(s) have their court dates. My best friend is the co-ordinator/director at the one in my city. That might be a decent place to look for a child care position.
  21. Our library has a summer reading challenge - they have different levels of participation for kids, teens, and adults. I think the kids have to read 5 books and then do 5 other activities out of a choice of 10 or so - things like "tell a librarian about a book you read" or "read a book and watch the movie". Then they get to pick a free book from a selection at the library. For adults, this year, the challenge is to pick 10 choices from a list of 20 or so - things like "read a mystery", "read a biography or memoir", "like us on Facebook", "grow an herb or vegetable" (they're trying to tie in reading with healthy food choices - kind of a quirky theme this year). Then you get entered in a drawing...I think it's for a Kindle Fire, but I don't remember for sure. A couple years ago I entered - I didn't win first place but I won a $10 gift certificate to the Friends of the Library book warehouse, so that was kind of cool. Our library also has book clubs, knitting programs, stitching programs, job coaching classes, genealogy classes, cooking classes, how to write a cookbook classes, computer instructions classes, eReader help, plus lots of activities and clubs for kids and teens.
  22. Jean: Boudin Gives Away the Dough I am the last person pictured/interviewed in the article.
  23. This is going to be pretty much a do-nothing day for me...dh and I "camped" overnight at the grand opening of Boudin Bakery to get a year's worth of free bread on Wed night - it was chilly and drizzly so I didn't get much sleep, plus there was a doozy of a car accident where I got to give first aid to the driver and wait for the ambulance to show up - guy will be OK but yikes...no one else wanted to check on him because they were sure he was going to be dead. :glare: So, trying to rest and recoup today although I have to take my dd to the dr later on this afternoon. Will probably do some laundry and school work.
