  1. Here it goes: Mix ground turkey or beef with bread crumbs, thyme, Rosemary and your other favorite seasonings, i.e salt, pepper, garlic. I add a little Worcestershire sauce as well and one whole egg. Hard boil 2-3 eggs (depending on size of loaf). Once eggs are hard boiled, put a layer of meat in loaf pan, arrange eggs on it lengthwise. Cover eggs completely with remaining meat. Bake at F 375 for one hour or until done. When my ds was little he had a friend over and they could not figure out how these eggs ended up inside the meatloaf. I told them it was my secret. LOL
  2. I had what's called a TAH, that means a 1 foot incision but I was not in a great deal of pain. They initially provide you with self-administered pain medication (little button) and you sleep for a while - in my case about one and a half days. By the end of the second day, I asked to have all the pain stuff removed and I felt okay. Of course, there is some pain when you get in and out of bed or want to move too fast. If you are having small incisions (minimally invasive) your recovery period should be smooth. You may not be able to lift much - I think this is universal after this type of surgery. At about 8 weeks you can do light housework. Don't do anything before then even if you feel fine because of the danger of adhesions on the inside. If you had a lot of problems (mine was rampant endo) you should feel soooo much better afterwards. If you have any more questions, PM or e-mail me.
  3. a neighbor of mine had breast cancer and no insurance. She found a program that paid for her treatment. Now this is in California and I don't know if this was a state sponsored program or nationwide. She should tell her doctor/nurse anybody in the medical community that she does not have the means to seek treatment. Somebody will know of a way to deal with this!
  4. they can tell we are nuts, so they don't even ask! You are probably right. Since you naturally talk to people, the subject comes up and I think people these days are so surprised every time they see a *larger* family. I never get asked with just one child/young man now. My friend who homeschooled seven at one point was asked a lot.
  5. this is a tough time especially when you feel sick now yourself. Hope you can get some help. I'm almost inclined to agree with abbeyj - any help would be good. Your Mom is just concerned and probably not questioning your mothering ability. If she is willing to help - let her!
  6. it would switching to organic strawberries. The non-organic ones are laden with pesticides. I would also replace other conventionally grown fruit/veggies with organic ones. If this proves too pricey, you can buy solutions to scrub some things off harder fruits like apples & pears. Can't remember the name of the washing solution. The next step I would take is milk & other dairy.
  7. I've been taking it since last September and I can only say that I notice no negative side effects. I think it's supposed to make you feel more balanced in many ways. I sure feel better with it than without it. Mine also comes from a compound pharmacy. It's supposedly the closest to what our bodies manufacture and I sure prefer this over any synthetic pill. HTH
  8. *Wind at my back*. The two main characters are boys in that age group. There are several seasons of this and the kids get older of course. It's completely clean and my son 16yo still enjoyed it tremendously. The background is the time of the Depression in Canada and all the struggles and funny happenings. I think you may be able to find out more by going to the Sullivan website. They are the producers. I am thinking its http://www.sullivan.com - if this does not work, google. Very enjoyable series!
  9. should school work suffer significantly or you realize she is completely wiped out (unlikely since it's something she would enjoy and she is young) I would tell her to cut back hours. I always stress that school work is most important still. What a great opportunity though! Congratulations.
  10. he thinks all the *healthy* food he is eating will make up for the cigarettes...or maybe he is just an employee who doesn't care how he represents his employer's store.

  12. to control the circumstances or have to wait on something that is causing me stress, I try to exercise regularly, sleep longer and eat better and pray a lot or even cry a lot. A talk with a good friend sometimes helps too. If your stress is mainly caused by every day living - not by specific incidents - it would probably also help to get on some kind of routine. It helps me anyway and relieves stress to some degree.
  13. never thought of starting seeds in them but I can see how it would work. My son has used them as a megaphone and scared the dog with it and I have used them to spark up a fire in the woodstove. Someone has painted them with faces on one end and clothes for the rest of the tube and then hung them from the ceiling. :D
  14. to do half an hour? I can so understand the need to get out after you've been cooped up with sickness.
  15. Alles Gute zum Geburtstag! ...Happy Birthday. Good for you to have found something that sparks your interest. You are certainly in the right place for history and art. Let us know where you are prowling around and what you find! Pictures perhaps?
  16. Please explain briefly. I have a feeling I could use some...:p
  17. she does not feel appreciated. Did her dh have to sacrifice a lot of time to get to this point in his career and could not spend much time with her? IMHO, this is not about the dog but about her. She is just using the dog for an excuse. Could her dh suggest a get-away time tacked on the convention trip? A vacation so they can just spend time together? Perhaps this would be an incentive for her. Sorry to be so blunt but I just have this gut feeling that this is not about a dog...
  18. you think it's hard to take care of or because you don't like the look? If it's the first, reconsider and talk to people who have wood floors. I never have had a real wood floor but my friend does and she sweeps and mops it the same way I do with the Pergo. And yes...real wood looks like real wood which is probably one reason your dh likes real wood. The only drawback to real wood (other than the cost compared to carpet or Pergo) you can see scratches more easily but evidently that is being addressed as well in newer and more expensive types. It also adds value to your home! Sleep on it and reconsider...:D
  19. is a little seasoning. I am not sure about the history of Le Creuset but if your pieces are older, could it be that they need to be re-seasoned so nothing sticks? You will likely get good advice from the company and start enjoying it. I wouldn't give it away because of the reason you mentioned and because one day you would regret it when you find out it's great stuff.!
  20. blanket. LOL. All I can do with yarn is crochet something with straight edges. I have once made a little rectangle to flip over top of the couch so the cat could perch there. After the cat went to kitty heaven, we have used it to open the hot door of the woodstove. Love it when I can use things in more than one way. :D
