I'm in a bread-baking mood...anyone else?
Mom2legomaniacs replied to Ria's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Oohhh, that sounds wonderful! I was thinking, this very morning, I need to learn how to make bread. I have a bread machine (not a very good one). I don't care much for the one bread I have made using it. I am looking for a better way and recipe to try. -
Am I on your ignore list?

Is your home drop by ready?
Mom2legomaniacs replied to mamapjama's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Always! ;) Feel free to drop in, kick off your shoes, and get cat hair on your hiney (just bring a roll of tape and it's all good). My house is open for you to have a drink and knit with me. If you have serious OCD, go for it, if it makes you happy. I'll have plenty to keep you busy. Drop in ready to me means welcoming. Oh, you mean clean? Nope! But welcoming it is (I hope).:D -

Knitters, I need input!
Mom2legomaniacs replied to Danestress's topic in General Education Discussion Board
No expert here either, but that would be my inclination. If you are using yarns with great variation in weights, it might be odd anyway. Why don't you do a small swatch to see how it looks and how you might have to change things up to get it how you want. Lovely pattern, btw! I might have to put that one on my list! -
Had to share my good news too!

In times that are so hard for you right now, I am so happy that these huge things have been lifted. What blessings indeed.:grouphug: -

Talk to me about Thrush and booKs...
Mom2legomaniacs replied to battlemaiden's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I have had thrush and am trying to remember. I think the whole thing hurt. But I also had about 5 bouts of mastitis too so I might be mixing it up. Use the nystatin and see if that helps. Does it feel warm or just hurt? Do you see any redness or streaking anywhere? Do you have any spots of great tenderness more so in that area than in others? Oh, and I would get them checked out asap. You certainly want to nip it in the bud right away regardless. Painful booKs are NO fun especially when nursing. -

And have come out of it. How do you feel? I mean, do you feel like you are able to give more to others? Or do you feel like you need to focus more on yourself after having felt neglectful of self during said down time? Where am I going with this? I am feeling a lot better in many ways. I have more energy, clarity or mind, body is feeling better, etc. I am going out and getting into activities again. The thing I have no desire for at the moment is home schooling. I am going to open up a big old confession here. I have been doing bare minimum and kind of unschooling loosey goosey lately. I think this will pass once I get more evened out and settled with myself. The kids are working mostly independently with my helping as they need it. They are doing fine, but I am not really "teaching" them much right now. They are kind of teaching themselves more with my assisting through the bumps. They are both working ahead, so I am not terribly worried if we need to do this for a bit until I get my head all the way straight. Please do not be harsh with me if you find great fault in my ways of doing things right now. If you have suggestions about how this might play out over time, that would be lovely. They are getting the basics every day. They both read a great deal of the time in a day. Well, I don't really know what else to say. I feel kind of bad about this. But I am taking on more each week and I think I just need more time to fully come together, you know. The progesterone cream is an amazing thing. Who knew that could "fix" me up so that I would be more normal!

As far as telling where a round ends, I would suggest getting something called stitch markers. They are little ring things that you put in a spot to help you keep track of that. If you tell me in particular what you are having trouble with as far as going in the round, maybe I can help. I suggest you just go for it. I have gotten quite fearless with the things I have been attempting with knitting. You just have to jump in and try. What's the worst that happens? You rip it out and start again. I have done that. I lived to tell about it. It was a learning experience. And I suspect I will have to do that again some day. Also, try to be meticulous with your counting. Make a little chart if you have to. I do that. I check off each row after I have counted to make sure I am on track.

What kind are you interested in? I have done a couple in cell group at church. One was by Richard Foster and called The Celebration of Discipline: The Path to Spiritual Growth. It has a workbook to go with the text. It is very meaty and quite interesting. If I can remember the other, I will let you know. I think it was on Forgiveness? There were several of that series that were really good. -
SHUDDER OMG! I have the willies now. Big time willies. My bff is a serious arachnophobe. She called me one time freaking out. There was a small dead spider on the floor. She couldn't even go in the room with it. I had to talk her through vacuuming it up. It took a long time. She was totally freaked by the whole thing. She lives 12 hours away from me so I couldn't go suck it up for her.

Me too. Missed the first one. I changed my answer to a wrong choice from the right one too. :tongue_smilie: -
LOL! They would make the ant bites itch even more. No socks until they stop itching. I put a pad bandage over them to keep my looser sandals from rubbing. Otherwise, nothing on them unless I have to. Sorry for those that have the misfortune of glimpsing them. But they need air and no covering. Plus, it's still hot here. Shorts and sandals weather still.
