  1. I have a full-time office job and have blotchy skin, so I put on makeup every workday morning. I use primarily Bare Escentuals. I put on undereye concealer, foundation, mineral veil, rose radiance, neutral eye shadow, eye liner (most of the time as it helps hide any mascara oopsies), and mascara. I don't wear lipstick or lip gloss. I've never liked the feel of having something on my lips and I drink water all day long so don't want the stuff on my water bottle. I'm sure I look weird with makeup and no lipstick, but that's just the way it is. I wore makeup for a period of time as a teen, but then stopped wearing it until about 7-8 years ago. I never liked the feel of liquid makeup on my skin, it always felt like a mask. If I hadn't have found BE, I probably would still not be wearing makeup.
  2. I just finished a very sweet book that was recommended on one of these threads by I don't remember who. It's Attachments by Rainbow Rowell. It is a fluffy rom-com and a very quick read. Great summer read. (Why do I not have any choice of font, emoticons, etc.?) Here is my very short book list so far for 2013. I'm doing more along the lines of the Book Every Other Week version of this theme. ;) Insurgent by Roth, Veronica The Passage by Cronin, Justin ;) Warm Bodies by Marion, Isaac On Gold Mountain by See, Lisa The Paris Wife by McClain, Paula 1Q84 by Murakami, Haruki Heart Shaped Box by Hill, Joe Replay by Grimwood, Ken The Twelve by Cronin, Justin And the Mountains Echoed by Hosseini, Khaled Ender's Game by Card, Orson Scott Joyland by King, Stephen The Raw Shark Texts by Hall, Steven Attachments by Rowell, Rainbow Edited - because I could. I read the other thread and "flipped the switch".
  3. I'd love to know this, too! I have been way on the hot side as long as I can remember. If the temp is above 65 or so, I'm miserable. I sweat very easily and I hate it. I was diagnosed as diabetic a year ago.
  4. I was using Truvia, but it is so expensive that I started buying erythritol and stevia to make my own combo. I can't have sugar and erythritol and stevia are the only sweeteners that I'm willing to use. I do buy Swerve (in the confectioners form) as for some things it incorporates better into the other ingredients than granular erythritol or Truvia..
  5. I also really enjoyed the book and had pretty much decided I didn't want to see the movie. But, now you all have got me reconsidering... I wish someone would make a movie based on the book Feed by Mira Grant. I think it would make an Awesome movie (along with the other 2 books in the series).
  6. I've had this sitting on my nightstand for a few years waiting to be read. It keeps getting pushed back because some other book has gotten my attention. Thanks for the reminder!
  7. Good idea! I had even searched my posts and it didn't show up. I'll give the google search a go.
  8. Thank you! I was really starting to worry. I wonder why I can't find it, not that it really matters, I guess.
  9. I used to make this recipe a lot. It's great and one that most people really like.
  10. or am I losing my mind? I thought for sure I even responded to it, but nothing is showing up in my searches. Anyway, I just wanted to say that Costco has this in paperback and I picked up my copy today. YAY, I don't have to wait to order it. I am going to finish the book I'm reading first (Ender's Game - dd read it and wanted me to read it before the movie comes out), but I'm hoping to finish it tonight.
  11. It's been in my cart waiting for the release date. But, I spent that money on garden stuff so it has to wait til I can put some money aside again. I need my King fix!!
  12. When I was a kid my mom belonged to a book of the month club. This is one of the books that she received/bought and I grabbed it and read it and LOVED it.
  13. I LOVE being alone at home and don't have that situation very often. I like to putter, have the remote control to myself, cook, read, work in my yard, etc., etc. I know that isn't helpful for you. I just like being home alone. If it's not something you enjoy, I would use the time to get the things done that you mentioned and do something fun at another time.
  14. Work. I am very grateful to have a job, but...it does occupy my day, every day.
  15. I think baking soda sprinkled on the carpets prior to vacuuming is supposed to help. I think that they recommend working it into the carpet with a broom or something and let it sit a bit.
  16. It depends on your definition of healthy. For me, sugar would make it off limits. So, I use 90% cacao chocolate, cocoa powder, cream, erythritol, stevia glycerite, and sometimes some cream cheese. I melt it all together and whisk til smooth.
  17. I just want to thank you for telling us about this author. I LOVE his dad's writing and hate the long wait between new books. I just finished J Hill's Heart Shaped Box and totally enjoyed it. He probably doesn't like hearing this, but his writing is a LOT like his dad's writing. It just sucks you in from the very first page and you don't want to put it down until you get to the end and then you're disappointed that it's ended. I'm so glad to hear that you're liking N0S4A2 I put it in my Amazon cart, but it isn't available until October. Luckily his dad's next book will be released on June 4, so it should give me my fix for a while.
  18. I just heard about this! Yikes! I listen to Dave Ross on the radio while I get ready for work and they had an interview with the driver of one of the cars that went into the river. He was incredibly calm. I used to live in B'ham and crossed that bridge all the time. So glad I live on this side now!
  19. I just found out about it a couple of weeks ago and watched all the episodes that are available On-Demand. It just cracks me up!! Jase is my favorite, too. I LOVE his deadpan comments.
  20. I love to garden, but the house we're in now does not have a good gardening yard. The soil is pretty much nonexistent and I'm too old and tired to rework and overhaul everything yet again. So, dh is out right now buying a bunch of the resin half-whiskey barrels (I was hoping for 3, he's coming home with 6) and Miracle Grow potting soil from Costco (happy Mother's Day to me using our Costco yearly rebate). My plan is to somehow create an awesome cottagey/courtyardy type of front yard using the barrels and probably other planters so that I don't have to deal with the existing soil. But, I'd love to know of any websites that have great ideas for container gardening. I have a general idea of some of the plants I want, I'm just hoping to get some new ideas. My yard is mostly shade. Any suggestions?
  21. Finally finished 1Q84 last night. I really enjoyed it but was disappointed in the non-ending ending. It took me a month to get through with the limited amount of time I have for reading. Thanks to I don't remember who for posting about Joe Hill. I've been a S King fan since beginning college and have pretty much read everything he's written and hate waiting for new books to come out. I had no idea that SK's son's were writers. I just purchased Heart Shaped Box and am going to start it today. Really looking forward to it. And, it's just under 400 pages so I should be able to get through it in less than a month! Needless to say, I am no where near being on track for a book a week.
  22. I agree with everyone suggesting to dress "up" for the position. I work in an HR office and it's amazing what some people come in wearing. I've seen plenty of cut-offs, flip flops, bazooms hanging out, etc. Does not make a good impression.
  23. Yep, that's the worst! And, a waste of ingredients. What was the recipe you tried? I really try to stick with recipes that are supposedly "tried and true". But, because of my diet, I'm trying a lot of recipes from various blogs. So far, I haven't had many duds. (knock on wood).
