  1. Our chiropractor has a train table in his office and my everyone from my 12yo to my 13 month old loves to play on it. After seeing how great they all played with it, we ended up buying one for my sons birthday last month =)
  2. Does he want another sister? LOL! I'm one of those 'deprived' Mama's that doesn't even own a cell phone -laugh- I would like to get a tablet of some sort though. It would be great to use as a homeschool tool, a car boredom buster, a reader, etc.... Have fun with your goodies :D
  3. That's one of the shows we really miss now that we are down to just basic programming.
  4. As long as they are not crossing modesty or appropriate lines, I let it go. My 16yo dd has no issue with wearing pink and red snowflake knee high socks with a calf length pastel print skirt. Now let me say that the skirt alone makes me cringe, but paired with those socks?! Oh boy. I guess I came to the conclusion that I was glad that she's not influenced by peer pressure or what's 'in', but is happy with just being her :)
  5. LOLOL! How sweet. My kids had a blast when we got our first dusting too. My 4yo son was devistated when it melted and was afraid that winter was over already. If he only knew.....
  6. I thought 312 too and my jaw dropped! LOLOL! Is this one of those instances where we revert to the mentality of 'It's the thought that counts?' Make the bed up with the new sheets right before you have to go out of town for the night and maybe once he lays on them HE'LL be the one to lose them....out in the garage in the rag bin or something ;)

  8. I have a glass gallon jar in the kitchen, and refill it as needed from a 5 gallon food grade bucket that we keep in our basement cold-room. I do the same with oats, rice, corn, etc....
  9. -gasp- One more thing to add to my 'Glad to live in the North' list!! How is he?
  10. Oh, how scary! Praying here as well -for this young boy, for you, and for the other students in the class that witnessed the scene.
  11. I agree completely. I have my children say the whole problem. Not only do those numbers 'stick' more easily, but I think it also makes the 'reverse problems' easier to remember as well.
  12. Just wanted to say that I'm in complete agreement with you, and will be watching this thread :D They aren't animated, but my kids like the movies like Babe, Milo and Otis, Mist, Heidi, The Fox and the Child, The Wilderness Family etc... Yes, Charlotte's Web is another they like. We've watched some good ones on Netflix. I'll have to see if I can remember the titles though....
  13. My MIL has just a few chickens. They gather their eggs and leave them sitting out on the counter for a week or two before putting them in the fridge (until they get enough to fill the carton, which sometimes takes awhile when they are also using out of it). Granted those are fresher than the store eggs, but I still would not be concerned about the temperature. Besides, if they are bad, you'll know it when you crack it -wink-
  14. LOLOL! Me too. Glad I wasn't the only one -snicker-
  15. Leftover cheeseburgers, baked beans, and corn on the cob. Yum!
  16. The really crazy thing to me is that while we have to fight to defend our choices to certain family members, the few public school teachers I know well are all totally supportive, and excited even, over our choice to homeschool.
  17. LOLOL! I JUST had this conversation with a friend this morning. Thankfully she is also an (ungrading) homeschool mom so she totally understood when I got a blank look on my face and after a long "Ummmmmmm", started counting on my fingers to figure out what grade they would be in based on their ages!
  18.  Seriously just dropped my jaw. Then I had a good LOL moment!
