  1. A couple of helps. xtramath.org (free) to help solidify math facts Key to Math along with Key to Math online
  2. Brandy, I bet it feels good to have a plan. Best of luck to you and your family. :)
  3. I missed the announcement. Congratulations! :grouphug: Sorry, no advice. I used to get so sick that I would ask God to either let me go to sleep or take me out of my misery....all while looking at the beautiful Christmas tree lights and leaning over a bucket. :D
  4. Thank you! I have family visiting the Niagara area this summer and we were lamenting that they didn't have time to get passports. I sent this info. to them so they can enjoy the beauty of the area.
  5. Jean, THANK YOU! I needed this big time. There is hope for my children:)
  6. Thank you! :) We are going to keep chugging along.
  7. Phew! Some days are tough. My 13yo is a bright bubbly girl. Out of all of my kids she is the most driven. When she sets a goal you know she will accomplish what she has set out to do. So, it is hard for me to watch her struggle when it comes to learning. She was 9yo before she started to show any progress in reading and math. She absolutely could not wrap her brain around grammar. We tried again and again. She has come a long way in the past four years, but there are times when I lament that she is behind other kids her age. And honestly, I think the hormonal shift has made learning even more of a struggle. There are brief moments when she sails through a lesson but most of the time she gets easily frustrated and is on the verge of shut down (usually grammar or math). Today was one of those shut down days with a few tears added in. I am trying to remind myself that this is one of the reasons we homeschool...so she can move forward at the pace that is best for her. She'll get there when she's ready.
  8. We have a small house, so mine is sitting on the floor in front of my bedroom closet. I KNOW I would use it more if I could find a spot big enough. Maybe when the kids move out I'll have enough space. :tongue_smilie:
  9. Okay, folks. It has hit the 30% discount level ($125.30 down from $179). About 50 more buyers and it will be $107.40. Have I convinced anyone yet? :D
  10. Call as soon as you can (Monday?) and ask for advice about her cut. If you don't take her and then an infection sets in, they might suspect you canceled her appointment because you are trying to hide something. I hate that we have to be careful about getting help for our kids.
  11. I'm so sorry to hear that she is STILL dragging you guys through this. :glare: I probably shared this before. My aunt lived with my grandmother for many years, and she continued to live in the house another eight years after grandmother's death. The house was supposedly on the market, but I believe they had it overpriced to keep it from selling. Then, they sold it for dirt cheap. My mom was soooo mad. I applaud you for getting a lawyer and taking action.
  12. I'm not a group type of person. I enjoy visiting with folks, but I also suffer greatly from meetingitis ;). We already do seminary, YW, activity day, piano lessons, dr.'s appointments, etc. The last thing I want is another meeting to attend. We had a group of preschool mamas in our ward who were all planning to homeschool. It dwindled as the time came to choose between homeschool or public school (not a criticism, just a fact). There are still several of us in the ward, but we are all busy and aren't on the same page when it comes to curriculum. Like Julie, I have found most of the LDS groups to be associated with TJED. Not knocking it (my sister's TJED kids have turned out great) but it just doesn't fit me. So, we do our own thing.....at home. :)
