  1. I'm so happy for you. I've been praying for you and your family.
  2. I was actually asking about guinea fowl.:001_smile:
  3. Well, between the ticks and the scorpions, we've finally decided to take the plunge and get guineas. So my question is: How do I keep the guineas safe while they are out of the coop eating up all those nasty ticks and assorted other critters? We've got four hawks circling around the house today, as well as bobcats and coyotes. We've got a german shepherd puppy, but I don't know if he will protect them. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.:bigear:
  4. You really should keep the kids and pets in until it has left the area. And yourself. They can take down a healthy full grown adult.
  5. Thanks everyone. He is starting to put some weight on the leg, so I think he probably didn't break anything. I'll just watch him closely for now.
  6. Our new puppy (7 wks old) was in the breezeway and the wind blew the door shut on him. He yelped several times and now will put little to no weight on his left hind foot. I did not see it happen, so I'm not quite sure what part of his leg is injured. What should I do?
  7. I thought this was interesting. 11 year old Christina Aguilera singing the national anthem at a hockey game.
  8. Five is very young for worksheets. Little guys like that can only be still and focused for short periods of time.
  9. An ice storm. Certainly not followed by 10 inches of snow.:glare:
  10. Thanks for the replies. Caitlin, were there a lot of pictures and illustrations in the book? The kindle books do not have pictures, so I'd lean toward getting a hard copy if this book does.
  11. We are getting a new puppy in 2 weeks. I'm sooo excited. I've read some good reviews of "The Art of Raising a Puppy" and I'm planning to buy it, but I have one question. Should I buy a hard copy of this book or would it be okay to download it on kindle?
  12. If you go through with this, you WILL ruin your relationship with the owner of the gym. Is that worth a $1000?
  13. I feel your pain. I've been trying to eat healthier and lose weight, but I've not made much progress. So now, I'm trying to cut out ALL sugar, eat less carbs and no snacking and no seconds. My bathroom scale still says the same thing every morning. It must be broken. Yes, that's it, the scale is broken.
  14. I've always been pretty gung-ho about adopting pets from shelters. But our next dog will probably be from a breeder because everytime we adopt the animal is sick from some viral infection. The first time it was distemper. The second was not quite as serious, but the dog's survival was a little uncertain for a time. I just don't want to go through it again.
  15. The comments on this thread are upsetting. I don't know if I can continue coming to this board knowing that you people put mayo in your chicken salad. Softened cream cheese is the only way to go. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. :glare:
