  1. Wow, what a gift...something we take so for granted! Rejoicing with you!!
  2. I am attempting to purchase a human ethnic Afro mannequin head for my soon to turn 11 year old daughter. I went to the local cosmetology school and they told me to google ethnic human mannequin head, which I did. I came up with a few on Amazon but the reviews were horrible and these are pricey. Our dd is adopted from Liberia and quite adept at braiding and doing hair. She would really like to flat iron the hair, cornrow, possibly add extensions etc. Can anyone recommend a high quality human hair ethnic mannequin head? I know it's a long shot but none of my IRL hairstylist friends have any information for me and I am not having success researching online. Also, what else do I need to purchase? some come with a holder/clamp to attach to a table. I am assuming if it does not say 'included' that I need to invest in one of those too? Thanks for any insight out there...I hope I get some info as my dd has been asking for months for this. Also, we have a new friend from Ghana who is temporarily in the area who would like to help our dd learn to do this :) I want to take advantage of her expertise while she is here!!
  3. praying, Lara...so sorry you are in this holding pattern:grouphug: Praying for resolution to your husband's job situation and healing for your dd's foot.
  4. That gives us a glimpse of your beautiful mom...thanks for sharing!
  5. So very sorry...give yourselves time to grieve and deal with all the trauma leading up to her passing. I'm sure it was a comfort to her to have you all there with her even if she was not conscious she knew she was loved and not alone.:grouphug:
  6. We did the same thing in May:) We were at Bryce during the Annular solar eclipse and did not even know it was happening!! pretty cool timing:) Did you hike the Narrows in Zion? How about Angels Landing? We did the Narrows but NOT Angels Landing ...an amazing trip!! PS That's a great view of Bryce you captured:)
  7. Just bought a voucher to make an 8 x11 20 page hardback book for $14!! Usually they are $34.99... If you would like to do this, just pm me and I can send you the email...if you click on the link to order and 3 people order I get it for free and likewise if you get 3 people to sign up... We love these books...they store well on the shelves and we have custom made them for our various family vacations...just today before I got the email for the deal, I finished one for my 17 yo ds's baptism.:001_smile:
  8. Praying here too...woke up to this news on our alarm...my heart has been sick since. Several friends were at the midnight showing here (NJ) last nite'...some Dads and teens too...so unthinkable and tragic :(
  9. Thanks for posting this...I read this book and was uncomfortable with so many aspects of it...His review is so comprehensive and detailed...I did not take the time to really evaluate what the issues were...it is going in the recycle bin tomorrow!
  10. Have you checked out Flylady.net? I have found her tips so helpful with decluttering and keeping up with household routines in 15 minute manageable chunks... She says,"If it doesn't make you smile, if it doesn't have a home(place to put it) or if it makes you feel guilty, get rid of it!!" Visit the website...there's a wealth of helpful info on there!!
  11. I'm trying to order from CLE and saw I can save $11 on shipping by ordering from the Anabaptist bookstore...when I put the order through it sends me over to the CLE website so i can't figure out how to put the order through the Anabaptist bookstore...any ideas??? Thanks!!

  14. Thanks so much...another friend just sent me to the exact same spot:) I just bought card stock and monthly dividers at Staples so I'll make my own planner for a fraction of the cost:)!!
  15. I've been poking around the internet, checked out the archives but still have not found one with big enough spaces...I went to Staples to look for a new planner and they were sooo pricey! Would love any suggestions for free software for weekly, and monthly planner to put in a binder. Thanks!!

  17. Thanks, Angela..I do hope I can sell it!...it worked for us for 9 years so it is still a viable curriculum:)
  18. After 9 years of TOG, I'm ready to sell my classic edition...I honestly have no memory of what I paid and I can't find a price comparison... I was thinking $50 for each year plan plus shipping(the binders are bulky and heavy)...does this sound reasonable? This would not include supplemental books...just the actual TOG year plan Thanks!
  19. Your mom sounds like she was an amazing lady...I'm so sorry for your loss.:grouphug:

  23. Have you tried taking ibuprofen or arnica which is an antiinflammatory during a flare up? I had something similar from a running injury...not fun:( but the antiinflamm. seems to help and you may even want to ice it but THAT may be hard to explain to your family:tongue_smilie:- (not sure of the ages of your children) Hope you get relief!!
