  1. We've decided on on river walk and boat tour, stop for photo op of the Alamo, toilet seat museum, and lunch at the mitierra cafe :) should be fun!
  2. So i just woke at 4am...because of a throbbing tooth..I am supposd to be leaving this afternoon, with a car full of kids, heading to San Antonio for the week..on a Holiday week no less! This doesnt seem like its going to go well...
  3. River walk, now on the list of possibilities :)
  4. Looking for fun or quirky, free or cheap things to do with a group of teens next Saturday in San Antonio, TX. The Alamo is on our list already. Can you help me out?! Thanks!
  5. He's probably a fun friend and would have had a laugh about it....but I'd be making them come back and repaint lol!
  6. That's cool! DS loved seeing that
  7. I would trade my new Acadia Denali back for my old '02 Suburban...and I only have 2 kids, but was always hauling someone or something around. My Suburban was 10 yrs old when I traded it in...I REALLY wish I hadn't, but DH was ready. We weren't farming much anymore and we needed something with a bit better gas mileage because our kids activities had us on the road alot...I LOVED my Suburban...I don't love my Acadia...
  8. That is so awesome! I know it makes your mommy heart sing :)
  9. yep. Little jumping spider. Here we have little wolf spiders that jump...similar in looks to yours. But for being so small their little bites can pack a real pinch!
  10. We're doing DC in September. I need to get on the ball about hotels and such and a white house tour. I have an idea of what we want to see and do. I think I may end up bringing our bikes as we like to ride as well.
  11. Outside to the barn to fool with one of my four horses or mess around in the barn doing odds and ends...or out to mow the grass or bushhog the pasture.
  12. I've always wanted one, but I wanted to build a bord room with a door to an outdoor aviary :) I always thought that would be fun for the bird too.
  13. One in each room, one in the hallway, one in the dining/kitchen/living area. We own a 1400 sq ft house.
  14. Yep, teleporting...that's a very good description of what an Arabian can do, lol. Mine whirled on me so fast once that I squealed! I thought for sure he was coming out from under me. Last weekend he was turning around (because obviously standing still was much too complicated) and a fella was standing too close. My horse bumped his hip into the guys shoulder. Whoa! Luka jumped so high, wheeled around, tossing his head around and bouncing around almost in place. I managed to stay on and the friends I was with were surprised...though some of the older ones just shook their heads and remarked yet again that they were too old to be riding 'silly' horses...Yeah he can drive me a little wonky sometimes, but he has such a huge personality that it totally makes up for it ;) Your boys are very handsome and most helpful!
  15. Cant add much more. The above ladies touched on some fun things in the area.
  16. Hmm...stay at home mom schooling our 2 with another outside student (though her year is done with me) which of course means running them to all their activities...but for myself I do the following when I have time and depending on the weather: training 2 horses and riding the other 2 with my dd, reading, crocheting, scrapbooking, sometimes gardening (as in large vegie garden), but not this year. I do have a few things in some pots though, I am teaching myself violin. Clean my car, mow the yard, and other random things here and there around here :)
  17. It doesn't bother me. I buy now if I need it, I save it for later if I don't. I managed to pick up many things at 50% or more like that. Patience...besides, their return policy is so much better than anything locally.
  18. Linders, there should be a video on his slideshow...he is poetry in motion when he's floating along. I love all my horses, but he is fast becoming my favorite.
  19. The tree is an awesome climbing tree. My kids used it well :) There are a couple more like it in the back and front yard. I trim them all myself and they've grown so good. You wouldn't know it by looking at it, but that big tree was run over multiple times when it was little by the previous owners on a tractor and that included a bushhog (like a giant lawnmower for pastures). It kept coming back and so the owner figured that he'd better put a little fence around it because he figured it was there to stay :) Now almost 18 years later, it looks like that!
  20. Long, long rides in the saddle with your horse and sometimes a friend/mentor on their horse over all sorts of terrain :) Here is a website to get a feel for what the endurance is about: http://www.aerc.org/ and another website that caters more to the long distance trail riders: http://www.natrc.org/ I like doing both, but plan on conditioning more for future endurance, but long trail riding is good for them too, just at slower speeds.
  21. We own five, but have access to about 8 more between our two neighbors because they don't use them and allow me too. Very nice. We have raised sheep, goats, chickens, cows and horses. We currently only have 4 horses and want to stay that way :) I keep the properties mowed and fences in check.
  22. We're going to go with the Naproxen and other pain meds firs,t before we move on to BC. I'd like to stave off the usage of the BC if we can help it. She's already a dramatic child with certain tendencies towards feeling sorry for herself. I'd not like to compound a possible side effect of depression to that. She just took a Naproxen. We'll see how that works today.
