  1. At 10:00 am (eastern). At least this is what it says in The Teacher Book Bag freebie offered by CurrClick. It has the entire program listed. Just scroll down to the lower section to locate the freebie "American Presidential Inauguration, 2009" www.CurrClick.com
  2. Thanks for sharing this. I like that the focus is more on history and the Constitution, rather than so much about the current president-elect.
  3. CurrClick is offering a free download from Teacher's Book Bag. Scroll down to lower box on the page. www.currclick.com
  4. I have had a Trac-Fone for the past 3 years and love it. It uses everyone's cell tower, so I always have service. I buy the "Double Minute/Never Expire For a Year" card.
  5. The ending was so very sad.Tess appeared so accepting of the her end, and Angel, unable to right everything, just broke my heart. The previews said "Wuthering Heights" is next. Get out the tissue, girls!
  6. This is what we are using for our dd (9) and she loves it. The information is written in a fun format and the experiments are quick and easy. Best of all it's free, which is a biggie when you are just starting out in homeschooling!
  7. Good grammar is sort of like dusting. No one notices when your furniture is dusted, but it is one of the first things people notice when it isn't.
  8. I screen all phone calls and just don't answer the door during school time. I tried being polite and answering the door, but some friends just don't get it. I have explained how disruptive it can be, but they just agree with me and act like I'm talking about everyone except them.
  9. We were on a 26' sail boat, playing by candle light. It was so dark you couldn't tell the color of the cards, plus dh insisted that you had to keep drawing until you could play. I don't know how long we played, but it was definately way.too.long!
  10. A real newbie flybaby. I just started today! Dd is so excited about her own journal and loved the part about not having to worry about "your perfectionist mom", and that my list is sooo much longer than hers. I like that dd and I are in this together.
  11. January 5th. That is if dd can hold out for another week:001_smile: Normally she is bored and ready to start studies right after Christmas. I could really use a few more days to relax!
  12. :iagree: We had a similar situation with dn and it almost destroyed our family. We filed papers against him as "out of control". Fortunately, we had a wonderful juvenile counselor who bent over backwards for us as a family, and to get him the help he needed. We were able to have him placed in a safe, controlled environment where he could get help dealing with his issues.
  13. This site has lots of crafts for Christmas. crafts.kaboose.com/holidays/christmas
  14. I had been needing some pics to fill in a few places on our time line. Thanks for sharing.
  15. I think we all have times like this, but it is especially hard during holidays AND away from friends and family. :grouphug:
  16. This site is full of freebie homeschool sites for all ages and subjects. http://www.freelyeducate.com
  17. We started with Horizons Math and have been more than pleased with it. Our dd had been told in school by her teachers that "It's OK, math is just a struggle for you.", "Don't worry. Not everyone is good at math." We pulled her out to homeschool in the 3rd grade. Horizons Math does move at a faster pace, but dd does well with the worksheet type curriculum and her self confidence in her ability has sky rocketed.
  18. I voted other because I haven't actually shopped for anything yet. We are doing at least one homemade gift each this year and I have gotten some of it finished. My dd has a drawer full of team shirts saved from years of playing sports that she can no longer wear. The plan is to cut them up and make them into a quilt for her. This way she still has the memories and more drawer space!
  19. Wow! That seems like a lot of money for an ad litem. The court appointed one for our dd when we were going through the adoption process (family adoption) and it was only $500.00 total. And yes, it was worth every penny! Ours really spent time with dd and understood the situation. Of course I may be biased since it all worked out in our favor:001_smile: Any way, my prayers are with you. I hope all goes well:grouphug:
