  1. One of our Walmarts is on the list that is supposed to carry the Prairie Gold berries, but in about 6 months of checking back, I've never seen it actually stocked :glare: I don't know if someone buys it all up as soon as it comes in or what, but I finally gave up and ordered more online. . .
  2. We ended up doing a Phase I treatment w/ braces on my dd (9 1/2 now - the first round of braces are off) because she had a lot of overcrowding. The dentist mentioned that she didn't have enough room for all her teeth coming in and so we went to consult with an ortho. He gave us a couple choices - one, to pull 4 permanent teeth to make room and then do braces later, or two, to do a 2-step treatment to move things around enough to make room for all her teeth. There's a small possibility she won't need the 2nd round of braces, but that won't be determined til all her permanent teeth are in.
  3. I donated mine, but it was to some organization that only took wedding dresses and made them available to people who couldn't afford a dress.
  4. Not very far. . .and I have voracious readers. Our local library is OK, but I find that when we do go (which is only a few times a year) they finish up with their big bag of books so fast that I'd have to turn around and go back in a day or two. It's only about 8 miles away, but going more than once a week I find inconvenient, so I've just ended up building a nice library at home.
  5. I generally don't because of the same reason. . .
  6. I would not get into anything physical - he's really too old and you don't want to have it escalate to that point. My ds has the "I don't care" attitude at times, but eventually he does care - it just takes him time to come to that conclusion on his own. I'd make his life very basic until he decides to start doing what he needs to do.
  7. My kids will eat the Carlson's - and my ds especially is very particular. Although now they've taken to popping them open in their mouths and squeezing out the inside liquid and then throwing out the capsule.
  8. You may be able to get away w/ not using tape. I've found I do better w/o it on walls that have an orange peel texture. No matter how carefully I've taped and pressed it down *well*, it just doesn't end up making a nice clean edge (some paint sneaks underneath, and I end up with a ragged looking edge). I've found I get a much cleaner look by just cutting in carefully with a small brush.
  9. It didn't cost very much - but my dd's bedroom is smaller, about 10x12. I don't remember exactly how much paint I used, but it was around a gallon. I didn't prime the walls, just painted over the existing paint. Depending on what brand you use, a gallon of paint can cost $10-$30 ish.
  10. If you have an extra computer with Windows Media Player, and ability to hook up to your cable, you can use that as a DVR. We've got an extra computer hooked up directly to the TV (instead of a monitor) and Windows Media Player has functions to set it to record specific shows, series, etc., and if you watch TV through the computer, you can pause live TV. I didn't want to pay for a service either, and this has been great. You can then also burn DVDs of shows you want to keep a copy of.
  11. Me neither - I've loaded so many free books onto my Kindles that will keep my kids reading for a long time. Someone else posted this link on another thread: http://www.manybooks.net/categories/CHI Many of these are also available at Amazon for free, too - so if you have a Kindle, it's easier to just get them there, but I haven't compared the formatting between the two.
  12. We used it as a stand alone program - just the books and I didn't use all the 1/2 books.
  13. I would go with what you can reasonably afford. Our whole family is on a high deductible plan that covers *nothing* until the $5,000 or $10,000 deductible is met (I can't remember which we have now - we had to change plans because they raise the rates every year :glare:)
  14. I was going to say something along these lines - can you approach her from a different direction when you know she's done something? Ask the question in a different way so she can't just automatically say "No, I didn't." I think her reaction to deny is so strong you may need to help her not to do that automatically.
  15. We have a great guild on Stormrage. . .if anyone has toons on there or wants to start/transfer one :)
  16. This is getting more widely available, but mainly on the western side of the US: http://www.bountifulbaskets.org/ They have a weekly produce basket for $15 (and organic for $25) which they try to make half fruits and half veggies. It's a great deal for the price.
  17. It's just bascially an online game that you play with other people, in real time. Most of them have some storyline behind them, but the main thing is that it's interaction with other people who are playing online at the same time you are.
  18. I cover some of our general reading books with the plastic laminate - either ones that are older and have been well-loved and I want them to hold up, or ones that I know will get a lot of use. My dc will read and re-read their favorite books and so covering those books just helps extend their life.
  19. I agree - I'd try to figure out how to install a coat rack and shoe rack or something. We have a hanging shoe rack right inside our door from the garage (it's supposed to go over a closet door, but we hung it on the wall) so there's room to hang up all our shoes when we come in. We also have 2 coat racks along 2 walls. It's not pretty, but it's functional.
  20. This is pretty much how our guild operates. Real life is always more important than the game and we are not hard-core about raiding. We often have fun nights where we get a group together and do old world stuff - like last night we did Black Temple and Sunwell (which I'd never done before because they're 25-man raids and when they were current, we have never had 25 people geared to raid at a time and most of us don't care for pugs). Our guildmaster has been pretty much MIA for several months as he and his wife had their first baby, and many members will take a month or more off at a time and then return to the game. But dh and I have been with this guild for going on 6 years now and we've made great friendships.
  21. Well, dh and I still play WOW and have not tried RIFT, however, a number of people from our WOW guild did for awhile, and I think all of them returned to WOW. I'm not sure of all the reasons (I know one was the guild - most of them just didn't like playing w/o all their guildies), but dh's best friend just got bored of RIFT pretty fast. He said it had some neat stuff, and thought he liked it quite well to begin with, but lost interest after a month or two.
  22. I agree. We don't do sleepovers - but that includes sleepovers at our house, too.
  23. I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think they've changed it so that sellers cannot leave negative feedback for buyers. So I guess since they didn't pay, you don't get the option to leave any feedback at all.
