  1. This is the issue for me, as well. The lying, rather than the friend's influence is the issue that needs to be dealt with, in my opinion. My ds would lie to avoid consequences, and it was not a pleasant thing to work through. Reading your update, it sounds like you have things well covered. I love how you and dh are working together on this. Hugs to you...
  2. Happy New Year everyone! My feelings were hurt last night by two younger dc, who did not want to go out and do our usual dinner/movie/games evening. One went so far as to state that we had no traditions on New Year's Eve,that they couldn't remember doing anything in previous years. Sniff. So dh and I put it behind us, found a new and excellent pizza place by the new house, came home and spent a peaceful evening together. I'm over it today, but wonder if spending these years doing this stuff made a difference in their lives. Maybe they'll remember when they're older with their own kids. Who knows... To do: coffee dh is setting up tv so we can watch Rose Parade, football start laundry start my new walking program, link here start my devotionals start my new daily planner for 2019 bring some more of dh's stuff here to the new house stop by beauty supply for hair care products, new blow dryer watch football, read for 2019 goals no clue for dinner Have a great first day of 2019!
  3. Morning, all! Happy last day of 2018! To do: coffee groceries and visit with my mom trip to BBB for bath mat, bathroom stuff Meet dh at house and decide evening plans. Usually we go out to eat as a family, older dc go their own way or go to movies with us. After, we make dessert, watch LOTR trilogy. This year, however, some friends are playing at a local bar and dh might want to go, sit in on a few songs. Either way, we don't like to be out very long on New Year's Eve. Have a great day, everyone!
  4. Morning, all! Late start this morning... To do: breakfast, clean kitchen, watch some football Target run Clean out food cupboard/purge unwanted canned goods, set up for donation dinner in the crockpot for kids, dh and I are going out more football, read, set up work out schedule Have a great day!
  5. Morning, all! It's still a little cool this morning, and dh just texted me that his ice warning light came on. He was very excited since we hardly ever get that kind of thing around here. Also, I learned yesterday that I moved key clothing items to new house. Problematic, because I only had a pair of sandals, no jacket here. Oh well... To do: Some leftovers from yesterday's list (devotional for 2019, drop off books, sort baking items) Put roast in crockpot for dinner inquire about painting estimates venture into garage, list some items for sale find some very strong decaf k-cups for Keurig (suggestions welcome) watch the two football games (maybe church in between the two?) Have a great day!
  6. Morning, all! It's windy and chilly here this morning, and I love it. To do: laundry, and straighten up laundry room sort baking pans and kitchen utensils find a bible study or devotional for the new year look for some decent shoes for return to work drop last load of books off at house pizza for dinner? I bought a roast for crock pot not realizing today was Friday... Have a great day!

  8. Morning, all! It's cooler today, and I'm determined to enjoy it and pretend it's winter. kitchen is done, coffee is in progress To do: load up books, start making the run to new house. Traffic was ridiculous yesterday (over an hour to get back) so I was only able to make 3 runs. place Amazon order take late afternoon off for reading... dinner? no idea, but we've had pizza and lasagna in the past week, so not Italian! But I do love it...
  9. I was done at "I don't argue with children"... He was acting like a child...I hope that you are feeling better about it now. Your children come first, no matter what.
  10. Morning, all! It was a great Christmas here, as well. Morning coffee, donuts, presents at our house; brunch and presents with my mom; we went and saw Homes and Watson in the late afternoon. So, back to business today: start moving master closet items to new house go through pots and pans, baking dishes and donate or move lots of coffee throughout the day quiche with leftovers for dinner help dh pack up some essentials for the week attempts to spend 1st night in the new house Have a great day!
  11. Glad to hear it ! We bought one for dd15 based on previous comments. She absolutely loves it.
  12. Merry Christmas! Wishing you all a very joyous day…
  13. Wow! This is so strange...the same thing with us back in the day. My former bff and I were regular yard salers, and I was able to sock away books, legos, Tonka trucks, almost all brand new. The one splurge was a failed eBay bid where the person offered me a second chance purchase. It was a tad, giant (GIANT) box of Star Wars figures, and ds2 climbed in the box and did not reappear until breakfast. These were the best times! How funny that we both have had the same experiences...
  14. We usually do cinnamon rolls, scrambled eggs, bacon, and a hash brown casserole. This year, we're doing a breakfast instead of dinner, so ham and sour cream gravy, toast, cinnamon rolls, fruit salad, bacon, scrambled eggs, hash brown casserole. I really want to try cinnamon rolls from scratch but worried about time...
  15. I feel you on this...older two sons are cash people, as well. Dd15 wanted a puppy, and that's not happening (we have 2 dogs). I did the read, wear, need, want thing, along with a board game for each. I was going to bake them some items but will probably wait until the weekend when extended family gets together. Both dh and I were commenting on how it was so exciting when they were younger, no matter what they opened. It's just different now...
  16. Morning, all! I've been since 5 a.m., presents are wrapped, under tree. Living room is mostly clean. To do with my little helper, dh: Car wash (gift certificates for boys) Costco for Christmas dinner stuff market for breakfast stuff dh and ds2 are going to see Aquaman dd and I will make gingerbread house, bake assorted goodies church services lasagna and garlic bread for dinner play games, watch movies, enjoy some wine Have a blessed day!
  17. If you're looking for immediate care before the derm appt, this line has worked for dd when nothing else would. The drying mask is pretty amazing... If you could only buy one thing, I would invest in this. The smell is awful, but results are good. You can get it at Ulta, Amazon, etc.
  18. Morning, all! coffee, shower, prep for the day church, breakfast out pick up last minute items, wrap shop for Christmas breakfast, dinner, baking items put together cash ornaments for kids (clear ornaments with the dollar bills/Pinterest idea) movies? watch Outlander, read, wrap gifts, relax Have a great day!
  19. Wow! My shipping woes...stood in line at FedEx (a lot of us), worker kept saying no worries, we'll get to you. Got to the counter...sorry, you missed the deadline (5 minutes). The soonest it can get there is Wednesday. Unlike other people, I just did what I had to do, paid... Doesn't seem right, because the guy was there to pick up. He kept saying, I can wait, take more. Counter person was adamant. We were all past the deadline. No go. 😁
  20. Morning, all! Coffee, then everything left from list yesterday. No official panic mode yet, I can get this all done! Have a great day!
