  1. He sounds good for his height. I'm 5' and my ideal weight is something like 98-105lbs. I would imagine that a male my height should weigh at least that. My dd is 10 and 100lbs. But she's only 4.6. Her Dr is not concerned, but gave me the go ahead to have her "officially" exercise.
  2. So far- 30 minutes treadmill, no incline because my legs keep cramping. Which could be due my hula hoop use. It feels good in the moment with painful consequences the next day (yes, I know how that sounds!). And I'm able to do about 100 crunches per set a couple times per day. I think I need to increase that because I'm not feeling it in the morning and it's getting annoying!
  3. I will be (next year) because - DD's skills are very scattered so she's not being challenged at school - DD has no help for social skills - DD is frequently confused by the complexity of directions relating to a skill she's mastered - DS needs to go back and master things, PS wants to advance him to 2nd - DS holds it together and controls himself but loses it at home - DS needs sensory breaks - DS got in trouble for making noises at lunch! There's a lot more, but these are the most recent.
  4. They are 6 and 10. The 6 y/o is the one capable of being quiet regardless of what's on TV. They're finishing this year in PS, so weekday/weekend schedules and routines are very different. I'm not asking for them to be quiet all morning, just until 7:30-8:00. If my behaviorally challanged 6 y/o can be perfectly silent until I get up, then I expect the same from the 10y/o aspie! They can have breakfast, watch TV or netflix, color, draw, read, read from her kindle, play a board game, etc. I will put up a sign. I think it may be partly because DD (aspie) has a horrible sense of time. On weekdays she'll get up at 7:30 and wonder why I will not let her take a shower when the van comes at 8:00. Other mornings she'll set her alarm for 4AM so she can shower. I've made it clear that a good time for her to get up is between 6:30-6:45 if she wants time to complete her morning "plan."
  5. I have no idea what it is, but there IS something that car detailers can do to get rid of the smell.
  6. That quilt is perfect! I'm with you on the lack of girl-ness. I don't own makeup, only wear sneakers, have never had a pedicure, etc.
  7. My kids, mostly my daughter, are very, very obnoxious on weekend mornings. They will get up early to watch TV and will be very loud. Every single time it happens, they get sent to their rooms. I want them to be quiet until at least 7:30. I know that they're capable, because if we have some treat like lollipops, in the house, they are silent until the box is empty! To be fair, if only ds is up, he will sit quitely for hours! It's really only dd. But if dd is up, her loudness will provoke ds to be loud. If I take the remotes away, ds will be in to wake me at 5:30-6:00 which is fine on weekdays. I don't like sending dd only to her room because ds was being loud. I do get up early, but do not like being woken up to high pitched, obnoxious laughing. If this sounds mean in any way, I am currently cranky! I just want DD to be aware that she's not the only darn person in the house, and to be able to quietly watch TV before I get up. They have easy access to breakfast that they like. What are some logical consequences for this? (I usually send her to her room and do not let her watch her shows for the rest of the day. I've also taken remotes away, but it doesn't have an impact.)
  8. A teen's natural sleep pattern is to go to bed later and wake up later. And they require a LOT more sleep than most people think. I'd let him sleep, as long as he knows what work must be done during a 24 hour period, or for the week.
  9. A little girl in my son's class last year used to cry every single morning. Not just the first few weeks of school either. She eventually started puking from crying so hard. The teacher did NOTHING about it. She just let her cry. I had to have a Dr's note for my son to use the bathroom AS NEEDED, not just as scheduled! We're talking about a kid who started kindy at 4, and hadn't been potty trained a full year yet! This girl and my son frequently lost "fun friday" for their behaviors, some of which we so beyond normal (ex. My son got into a "fight" with a little girl one day and told her "that's it! you're not my friend anymore!" I was so happy to hear of this normal kindy social interaction, and what happens? He lost all 30 minutes of fun friday.) This teacher was the first to go with budget cuts. This is just to say that I'd believe it if there was not more to this story.
  10. So far I've done 25 minutes on the treadclimber alternating between inclined and flat. I did the power 90 ab ripper, but a bit modified because sit ups hurt my lower back. I'll have to go back to ball crunches. I hula hooped for 10 minutes, but have to put on my walking boot to do more. My motivation for the day are a few songs I'm obsessed with, mainly Sean Paul, loaded (legally) on my Ipod and played really loud! I think this playlist will keep me going for a while.:D Anyone else? (Just so I don't look too good; sunday I only did 15 minutes on the treadmill, mon, tue, wed were nothing, and yesterday I did 35 minutes on the treadmill. I'm attempting Power 90 but my lower back has been too sore and I am not about to hurt myself!)
  11. These are all for the same person, and all relevant at some point. (I know the title says A song, but I can't help myself!) Picture by Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow Follow Me by Uncle Kracker http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQls53Piuj0&feature=related Winner at a Losing Game by Rascal Flatts I miss My Friend by Darryl Worley What Hurts the Most by (well, redone by) Cascada And the most recent fit is... Hit My Heart by Benassi Bros http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4CzXAHBCMY I could probably go on all day. This has been the theme of my life for the last 10 years. :(
  12. :iagree: Well, I've never put soda in the dryer, but the dryer is on the 2nd floor. I have picture schedules ALL OVER THE HOUSE and they're not just for the kids.
  13. As an adult who currently has ear tubes (5th total, 2nd as an adult), reconsider tubes. It is life changing! Without tubes, I have constant fluid in my ears, it hurts, and I can't hear right. Yes, my hearing tests fine, but the quality is sooooo different!
  14. Hopefully this can stay peaceful. No "don'ts" here; so no saying what you don't let your kids do, or things like that. Only things that are currently going well, you're happy about, etc. I have remembered to give DS his meds perfectly on schedule for 2 weeks now! I ran the dishwasher last night. I walked on the treadmill for 35 minutes today, 8 minutes inclined! I've had 2 bottles of water today. I did not get frustrated while dd was stimming and attempting to explain something :) I remembered to check the dry-ness of ds's bed before 9am! (ample time to wash if needed, but they were dry)
  15. My kids watch (almost) anything they want. Including Nightmare on Elm Street, Dawn of the Dead, Family Guy, House, Futurama, etc., and we watch it together. I'm not sure what day I last washed DS's hair. I forgot to give DD her miralax this morning. I have not been making DD exercise daily, even though we got "official" Dr's go-ahead. DD's Violin has not been touched since ... I let an ex into our lives knowing deep down he was BSing me, and that it wouldn't last long (8 days over 3 weeks to be exact). We had Wendy's for dinner I think ds's stimming is ADORABLE!!!! But dd's stims annoy me :( I have way too many pants to hem DD want to make a quilt and I told that my sewing machine wasn't working right (I'll do it with her this summer) That's all for now
  16. The best diaper I have ever found is http://www.tranquilityproducts.com/dealers/products/maximum/overnight.htm with http://www.tranquilityproducts.com/dealers/products/added/toplinerbooster.htm I also use 4 disposable bed pads (overlapping in the spot he sleeps most). I only have to change his sheets 2x per week now instead of every night. We tried everything out there and the tranquility diapers with boosters are the best. If he's leaking out the top of the diaper, which is very common with boys and all these low-rise diapers, you put the booster pad across the top/front of the diaper so it's across his belly. I can't always do laundry in the winter, so I HAD to find a solution to the leaking.
  17. I had been planning on GFDF (gluten free/dairy free) for the kids, but had no push to get us started. Well dd went to the Dr yesterday because her constipation is a worse than normal. He wants her dairy free :glare:. We've BTDT, so it isn't a problem, but I wasn't ready to flip all our menus yet. DF for now, and I'll add GF in a few weeks. School breakfast and lunch are now officially out. For breakfast dd has rice chex with dark chocolate almond milk and a piece of fruit. DS has a pediasure (not DF). Lunches will probably be some type of sandwich- ham, turkey. A salad and fruit salad. I have to redo our dinner menu. Off the top of my head- Homemade pierogies, meatloaf, salisbury steaks, quesa-less-dillas, chicken w/ broccoli and rice, and I have to think of more.
