  1. That looks very good! Thanks, I will be looking more into this.
  2. Yep, you are correct. MoH isn't complete yet. Hmmm.
  3. I would be open to Christian or secular. Does anyone know how Mystery of History treats that particular part of history?
  4. Does anyone know of a good alternative to SOTW, especially the 4th book? I like the idea and concept, but I strongly disagree with some of the conclusions drawn (for example, the idea that FDR's New Deal was a good thing that got us out of the Great Depression ). Any suggestions?
  5. I think it's right UP there with The Shawshank Redemption, lol.
  6. hmm I think I would really like Mr. Q if it wasn't in Comic Sans...
  7. Last night we read a couple chapters of The Boxcar Children together. I would read some, and she would read some. She did very well, only had a little bit of trouble with one word (she read "farmhouses" as "farmhouse")
  8. I wish Krav Maga were available where I live, but it isn't. My kids will probably eventually learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Why? It's a good workout, plus I want my girls to be able to protect themselves and their loved ones if they ever are in a situation where they would need to do so.
  9. We are thinking of getting her some American Girl books for Christmas. Would those be about the right level?
  10. I guess I just rarely feel "finished" with them.
  11. DD5 enjoys reading books on about the level of the Frog and Toad books. Do you have any recommendations for good books that are at about that reading level, or maybe slightly more advanced?
  12. What do you do with old magazines? I usually keep them, they make great reference materials. But they tend to take over the place. If I pay $5-10 for a magazine, I feel just as guilty throwing it away as I would throwing away a book when I am done reading it.
  13. Dd5 is doing 1A and seems to really enjoy it...no idea what the later grades are like.
  14. Right now I think I am leaning toward, in order: 1. RS4K (not sure what level though) 2. Mr. Q 3. RSO

  16. God's Design for Life Science link Elemental Science Biology for Grammar stage link Mr. Q Classic Life Science link R.E.A.L. Science Odyssey link Real Science 4 Kids Pre-level 1 Biology link Which of these would you recommend? Which would you say to avoid?
  17. My thinking is, you never know when another Katrina, or Rodney King riots, or terror attack will happen. But yeah, the total collapse of our economy and the rise of a one world government where Christians are hunted down for extermination is also a possibility lingering in the back of my mind.
