  1. DH had an open bite that was left untreated as a child b/c his parents thought it was just cosmetic. By age 35, he could only eat soft food and only 4 teeth touched! His TMJ was so bad he would miss work regularly. $30,000.00 surgery (thankfully insurance covered 80%) 3 months of painful recovery, and $5000 braces later, DH is a new man! Yes, he looks bit different, but his was LONG gone, and quite frankly, symmetry always looks better :D. His parents could have prevented it all. They feel rotten now...but they just didn't know :grouphug:. DD9 has a palate expander now, DS8 will get his this summer. DD says it is annoying, but not painful. ;)
  2. I love Flank Steak as is for fajitas. Just my .$.02 . And, here is is about 6 or 7 bucks a lb.
  3. So, if you owned a business and set your prices for profit, you'd have no problem with people using your product then returning it? Or using your services then finding loopholes to not pay? Yes they are for PROFIT -- and you choose to go-- what gives you the right to decide how they set the profit margins? If you don't like it, go 2 lousy hours with no food or wait until your movie comes out on DVD.
  4. Ours has a large sign saying "NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK." Do I think the prices are high? You bet. So are Outback's, Maggiano's, and Frontera Grill's. They are businesses and they set the prices. If you don't like the rules, STAY HOME. If you think the prices are too HIGH, STAY HOME. Would you prefer they charge $25.00 a ticket and have reasonably priced snacks? That would be the alternative to make them a viable business. At the very least, I won't set a "sneaking" example for my three children.
  5. Juicy, Britney Spears Fantasy, Coach Poppy, any of the Gwen Stefani fragrances, Miss Dior Cherie, and if you want super inexpenisve, the B&BW would work just fine!
  6. I have had friends whose menstrual cycles were nearly halted by certain IUDs. I'd definitely talk to your OB; he or she might have great ideas!
  7. Thank you all very much. I know some people are adamantly opposed to them, and I hear your concerns. As other posters have pointed out...we all have the lines we draw. I would never allow a gun in my home. Not now, not for kids, not for DH, not EVER. My kids will NEVER play football. They always wear helmets when biking and scootering (both VERY dangerous). But, we really need our DD out more, jumping and playing. We won't allow more than 1 kid on, nor ANY neighbor kids. Of course accidents can happen, and we will do our best to minimize them. Thank you all for your concern, and super duper thanks to those that provided BRANDS or OPTIONS to consider! Thank you!!!!
  8. but I think the pros will outweigh the cons for us. We will only allow 1 child at a time, and my DD with special needs could really use the extra exercise, kwim? There are so many brands, gadgets, screens, spring covers, etc. that my head is spinning. I'd like to stay under $500.00. Thanks!
  9. I have a large Breville Grill and a smaller Cuisinart grill. I adore both! The run circles around George Forman types.... Steaks gets evenly cooked, chicken is never dry, paninis are pressed, not smooshed, and open, the Breville makes awesome pancakes, eggs, etc.
  10. That is truly wonderful! You should be proud...as should he! WTG!!!
  11. Yep...I've NEVER seen it for $1.00 an issue :-). 50% is off of their subscription price :-).
  12. I'm so excited -- I've waited forever to order it and now I can finally afford it! And, no, I don't live in Chicago...that's where the deal is though :-). Just log into groupon and go to Chicago! edited to add: 50% off of their cheap subscription. $51.00 for 51 issues :-).
  13. Wooden spinning tops, Jacks (I love Jacks!), OOOhh, a Jack in the Box wooden paddle balls, the magnetic boards with little magnetic facial hair, Etch-N-Sketch minis, Uno cards paper dolls matchbox cards Monkey Grinder Bubbles
  14. :grouphug:. Just :grouphug:. Oh, and have that dagnubit DH pick up some Nutella on the way home from work .
  15. I'm guessing future DH will be belittled and demeaned throughout the next 50 or so years, or he'll cut his losses and find a new woman!
  16. I simply don't know how to express comfort to someone who's world has been rocked...that is my worst nightmare. What a horrific tragedy!
  17. Wow ... congratulations! I cannot image the sense of loss combined with such a wonderful sense of adventure. I will eagerly await your updates as you see what the Universe has in store!
  18. I agree...the thought of repainting before I ever moved my stuff in would kill me! Neutral Tan/Beige is the way to go. That said, I'd have no problem with 1 color in a bathroom or kid's room.... The majority should be move in ready, though.
  19. Geesh, I'm pretty sure my 12 and 9 year old don't have WTM accounts...but I sure do resemble that remark
  20. 1. Lower cable, internet, and cell phone packages. 2. Sell extra stuff on ebay -- every $2.00 mattters!!! And, it adds up! 3. Barter need services -- I trade tutoring and paper proofing for babysitting. 4. Make meals once a month and only buy fresh fruits and veggies when needed -- it cuts down tremendously on waste! And, increase your # of meatless meals each month (we cut food $400.00 per month doing this!) 5. Trim costly activities and spend more time adventuring as a family.
  21. Maybe he got it sexting and harassing Jen Sterger. I feel horribly for his wife...though I'd have kicked him out in a Louisiana minute!
  22. :iagree:That was my impression, as well. And, Cat, she CAN read -- just not American History -- or geography
