  1. This is one of my favorites: http://www.simplyrecipes.com/ Every recipe I have tried has been wonderful. I love the pictures and the instructions are easy to follow.
  2. I agree with the others about Ocean Grove. If you want to pay less Island Beach State Park is very nice. It is a little further but charges by the car not the person. One of our other favorites is Avon By the Sea. You do pay per person but it's a family type beach and you can bring coolers on the beach (some beaches don't allow that) so we don't have to buy food there. Have fun!
  3. I struggle with adult acne also. I don't have the cure but I will give you a link to my favorite natural soap and acne treatment gel. The gel is cool and very soothing on painful acne. The prices are good and as you can see the reviews are too. http://www.iherb.com/Nelson-Bach-USA-Pure-Clear-Acne-Treatment-Gel-Step-4-1-oz-30-g/6744 http://www.iherb.com/Grandpa-s-Thylox-Acne-Treatment-Soap-with-Sulfur-3-25-oz-92-g/6431
  4. You should definitely do: The Constitution Center, Independence Hall, The Liberty Bell (all in the same area) The Philadelphia Museum of Art What are your interests? There are some great self guided walking tours. The Zoo is the oldest zoo in the nation. There are tons of small museums. We loved the Univ. of Penn Museum of Archeology and Anthropology. Have a Philly cheesestake for a cheap and authentic lunch or go to the Reading Terminal Market to find tons of inexpensive and fun food vendors. Enjoy your trip! HTH
  5. Though I don't know you, I have tears in my eyes. I am also praying for you. :grouphug:
  6. Oh my that is one creepy thought!! :D I have found a bloody egg as well a few different times. It is really gross but I love eggs way too much to give them up!
  7. Thank you all for the thoughtful responses. This has been very helpful. I am so thankful for this forum and for the blessing of people who I don't know but are willing to take time to write out thoughtful responses. This information has cleared up a few things and given me some great questions to ask.
  8. Does anyone have opinions/experience with K-12 Online High School? We are trying to figure out what is best for my DS 14 as he heads to high school in the fall. The options we thought we had have fallen through and we are starting over. If you have experience with this organization or know anything about how they are perceived I would really appreciate the information. Thanks!
  9. I am going and really looking forward to hearing SWB and MCT for the first time!
  10. I wouldn't suggest castor oil either. I did it and had a very bad experience. All the other suggestions sound great. With one of my children I went for acupuncture to start labor and that worked also.
  11. That is pretty much what I do too! Sometimes, I just use olive oil, garlic and salt and it is still just as delicious and quick to make.
  12. I am using OPGTR with DS 6 and we are at lesson 114. Would Reading Raven be an appropriate app or is it too easy? Thanks!
  13. I am also so sad to hear this and am praying for her family. Thank you for sharing this story and allowing us to pray for this family.
  14. I actually don't know the answer but thought I would post so your message goes back up to the top. I hope you figure it out!
  15. He is adorable! I have 3 boys and those days seem so far gone. Enjoy every moment. Happy Birthday Little Guy!
  16. :iagree: Also, does he like nuts? They are great for adding calories. They even have honey sweetened ones if he doesn't like them plain. Try more high fat healthy foods like avacado, cheese, nut butters. Adding cream to his whole milk is great if he won't take it plain make milkshakes or smoothies. You can also add tons of good stuff to muffins to bump up calories (nuts, nut butters, butter, dried fruit). HTH
  17. I think I would travel to another town if necessary to get a second opinion. Something doesn't sound right. You don't want to be on the vicodin any longer than is absolutely needed since it's highly addictive. It also changes your tolerance for pain so it can be deceiving.
  18. My son has terrible seasonal allergies and it finally got so bad he developed asthma. We switched to a doctor at a major teaching hospital and he has been doing so well ever since. You have been given great advice. Here is the combination that has finally worked for him: Veramyst Nasal Spray Allegra Patanol Eye Drops I know it's different for each person so you are going to have to try different things. The Veramyst was amazing! He does need to take it everyday no matter what all through the season but it works. Also, taking a shower every night before bed is really important. Pollen collects in the hair and then transfers to the pillow. Sometimes when my son was that bad in the middle of the night I would even give him another shower. Unfortunately, it really helps to keep all the windows in the house shut. It's so frustrating during the wonderful spring weather to keep the house closed up but it makes a big difference. You could even try an air cleaner in the bedroom. HTH :001_smile:
  19. I am praying for this family and all of those affected by this sad sad tragedy.
  20. If you don't mind paying a little more and like buying from local farms that take great care in how they treat their crops ....AND you want the most amazing tasting olive oil that you have ever had... buy from this farm: http://www.chaffinfamilyorchards.com/index.php By the way, I am not affiliated with this farm in any way. It's simply the most wonderful olive oil I have ever had. I buy with a friend and we split the shipping. ETA: I just looked and they seem to be out of the Late Season Harvest Olive Oil which is the one I bought in the past. I am sure the other they have now is also delicious.
  21. I agree with many of the comments. The elderberry one is new. I need to look into that. Zinc is also critical. You can buy an easy at home zinc test to see who is deficient. Basically, you hold the liquid zinc in your mouth and if you taste a yucky/metallic taste you have enough zinc but if it tastes like water you don't have enough. Out of 5 in my family only one child seems to have enough zinc. The rest of us have to work hard to get our levels up.
