Help! My 2 week old won't stop screaming!
khope1 replied to EmmaNZ's topic in General Education Discussion Board
you didnt mention what type of delivery you had. Most people and doctors have a widespan for what is a "normal" delivery and even that doesnt really matter. I can tell you from experience that after 4 months of crying for 10+ hours a day, a chiropractor was my saving grace.....after 1 adjustment, she was like a totally different baby. And my Ped was dead set on reflux AND colic and that wasnt it at all. My chiro said that it is normal for babies to have a lot of issues after delivery, just make sure that you go to someone that is trained to work on babies. I feel your pain and just know that you will get through it. For what its worth, even the nurses brought my daughter back to me in the hospital after her incessant crying and they were the ones trying to give me a little bit of a break-and she is my only, so I had no idea what was going on. :001_huh: -

My friend has this same issues with both of her children and she has tried them all...she went to the dermatologist and they gave her some sunscreen that is hypoallergenic. One for the face (that wont burn the eyes in stick form) and then one that is a lotion. I can get the name for it if youd like. Im not sure if you can purchase it over the counter or through a doc only. -
Growing with Grammar positives and negatives?
khope1 replied to SueS's topic in K-8 Curriculum Board
My dd uses it in first grade. She does it on her own with me sitting next to her in case she has questions. I love the fact that their is review built into it. If you ask her if she likes doing Grammar, she says that she loves it. And it doesnt take that long to do, so that is a bonus since some subjects are very time consuming. We do 3 pages a week. Good luck in whatever decision that you make. -
What flea and tick control do you feel safe using?
khope1 replied to rafiki's topic in General Education Discussion Board
this is going to sound nuts, but I use frontline on my dog and he still got fleas. I didnt want to have him dipped, so I called my friend who is a doggroomer (she also homeschools). She told me to wash my dog in original DAWN dish soap. I left the soap on him for 10 minutes and saw the ticks die. Im not a big fan of DAWN either, but now he is flea free. HTH -

Klean Kanteen - What lid do you like best?
khope1 replied to rafiki's topic in General Education Discussion Board
sports cap here too.....as for the squeaking, if you loosen the top (just a bit) the squeaking will stop. But if you open it too much, you will be wearing water. My 6 year old has learned how to do it herself without wearing any water. :) -
What resources do you like re: GLUTEN FREE?

Vans apple cinnamon waffles are really yummy (but their whole line isnt GF). You need to check the boxes. -

Food for life brown rice wraps. I use them for wraps, fajitas, you name it. If you can wrap it, its in there. LOL And UDI's makes the best bread out there IMO. Thir muffins are really good too. And I second Tinkyadis (SP?) pasta. La Choy soy sauce is gluten free. So is the regular heinz ketchup and hellmans regular mayo. Good luck! -

Can you change a dog's name after 3 years?
khope1 replied to Miss Peregrine's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I have had 2 rescued dogs from a shelter now and have changed both names-and the names that we changed them to didnt sound anything like the original. As long as you are paying attention to them and praising when they come, they will learn it in no time. -
All you photographers, I need some camera rec's
khope1 replied to birchbark's topic in General Education Discussion Board
if money werent an option, I would get the Canon Rebel. BUT, I cant afford it.....I own a Sony Cybershot and LOVE it. I did a ton of research on point and shoot digitals and I needed something that when I pressed the button, the wait time to take the pic was less than 2 seconds. Sony wins hands down in that catagory. I have owned 3 of them now. My new one has all of the bells and whistles-face recognition, smile recognition, etc.....but I usually turn all of that stuff off. It takes great pics and I have no complaints. And they are extremely affordable. Happy Shopping! -
I guess it wont work if I dont take it out of the shrink wrap? LOL (BTW, Ive had it for over a year now as this was last years resolution) After hearing how grueling it is.....I think step 1 might be for me to just watch it.

What are you getting your kids for Christmas?
khope1 replied to TracyR's topic in General Education Discussion Board
my almost 6 year old really wants a pillow pet too. But I have yet to see this commercial, but I think that DH is ordering her one. She has asked Santa for Lulu the cat. Its one of those real animal things. Since DH is allergic, its the closest thing to a cat that she will get. LOL We are also getting her a zoob add on pack (cars) and some Littlest Pet Shop things. Grammie got her some LIV dolls. -
Wii Resort, anyone have it?
khope1 replied to Teresa in MO's topic in General Education Discussion Board
AND LOVE IT! We play as a family all of the time. However, we like the Outdoor Challenge as well, but definately play Resort more. My favorite game is the jousting type thingy. But my arms kill me the next day. LOL Good luck! Oh, and when we bought it, the motion thing was in the box, so see if that is still an option-we bought it when it first came out. Then we just bought an extra motion sensor for our other remote. -
you should check out game giveaway of the day. They offer free games on the weekends and a lot of the time they are bejeweled type games. Have fun! http://game.giveawayoftheday.com/

you need to log online (on the back of the visa card) and then enter your billing info into the card before you can use it online. Then, you can only use that particular dollar amount. So if your card is for $$25 and you purchase something for $26, you need to specifically enter $25 for the credit card as the gift cards are very picky and wont let you purchase something for more than what your card is worth. But once you input your info and link it to the card, then you can use it online with the info that you put into it (for billing address, etc). HTH.

I use Dick Blick a lot for art supplies. I bought air dry clay from Michaels and am not happy with it (but I used to be an art teacher and maybe Im spoiled with higher quality materials?) When I taught, I used Dick Blick air dry clay. Nasco is another company that I ordered from in the past. HTH.

I have been getting it for about a year now and LOVE it. I also own the Tosca Reno books Eat Clean Diet and the one for family. She also just released another one this month. Maybe your library has some of those that you can check out? I started with the books and then got the magazine after getting hooked on the eat clean kick.
