  1. Thanks! I know that there aren't any D.O.s in the area. I wonder if there are any functional medicine docs. Off to check.
  2. Does anyone have suggestions on how to find a functional medicine doctor?
  3. I think that when I've done crocheting in the past my hands were just reversed. But since this is adding some sort of decorative edge as it binds off I couldn't hold the hook in my left hand because of all the stitches still being on the needles. (That probably doesn't even make sense. The instructions basically say not to bind off, to leave the stitches on the needle, and "insert crochet hook through the next 3 sts and slip off needle, yo and draw through all std on hook, chain 7; rep from * to last 3 sts…") I couldn't do that with my right hand, and when I tried to do it with my left hand it didn't seem quite right with where the yarn was coming from. But I think it might be okay if I flip it wrong side up like Closedacademy suggested. I'm going to give it a try. Here's hoping!
  4. Thank you! I'll give this a try.
  5. I was recently inspired to pick up a knitting project that I'd left unfinished for too long. The good news is that I'm almost finished! The bad news is that I can't figure out how to finish it. :glare: It is a shawl pattern by Lion Brand. http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/60301.html?noImages= The Finishing requires a crochet bind-off, which would be okay except that I'm a lefty who knits righty. I've done a very, very small amount of crocheting left-handed. I've tried watching some videos on how to do this type of finishing but I can't make my right hand do what it needs to do. Does anybody here know if I could finish this with the crochet hook in my left hand? TIA!
  6. We were considering it last year, but unfortunately it didn't work out. I know that someone here has done it because when I was researching the Camino I found a couple of threads here, but now I can't find them. (I tried the search feature here as well as searching this site through Google and neither yielded any results.) :confused1: Which route are you considering?
  7. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: I am so sorry for your loss. Your family will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.
  8. I agree! We recently moved to an area with Hobby Lobby and I bought something there the other day before learning of the connection. After reading about it, I returned it yesterday and I will not be darkening that doorway again.
  9. Thanks for posting those. The video by the vet was particularly interesting. Thank you. I knew that my dog's nails were in need of trimming (despite the vet recently saying they were fine), but this provided the motivation to actually get out the clippers and give it a go. Good luck finding a hammock. We love the hammock we have, but it is a woven one and the dog doesn't get in it.
  10. Wow! How did I miss that announcement? Is there a thread where it was mentioned? 8, I hope your daughter recovers quickly.
  11. Thanks! I've been checking in over here more and more as I've been planning. I appreciate the encouragement. For some reason the thought of homeschooling high school is so much more intimidating than the general idea of homeschooling ever was to me.
  12. I'm sorry. That really stinks. Maybe you could contact them and let them know that you are a self-educator and see if you could join.
  13. I just saw that this has reached the lower sale price at HSBC.
  14. Try to copy and paste it. It is a link to a letter from some lawyers saying that the two of them need to stop discussing this online. It has a list of a bunch of sites where it was discussed, including this thread.
  15. I'm sorry. :grouphug: Thoughts and prayers for all those affected. I appreciate you posting.
  16. Just a quick update. I started the magnesium that night and in about two days it was much better. It isn't totally gone yet, but the difference is remarkable. I can no longer see it twitching, and instead of it twitching nearly constantly it feels more like it is trying to twitch but can't quite do it. Thanks everyone for the suggestions!
  17. Bumping this old post to see if you ended up using that Natural History curriculum and if so what you thought of it. Thanks!
  18. :glare: I hope it doesn't come to that, but it would be worth it to get this to stop.
