Yes. According to their website, the target audience is 6th-9th grade students.
We have it, and have completed about half of it. I can't say exactly how long that has taken us because we started it in the midst of a move. About halfway through the program I decided to take a break from it to focus on some other things. There are 30 lessons of varying lengths. I think it would be possible to complete the program in one semester.
The author is the principal of a Christian school. I would definitely say that it is not secular, but there isn't any proselytizing in it either. (In the back there is a list of poems organized by category. The categories listed are: poems that tell a story, poems about nature, poems that describe something, poems about love, poems about history, poems about God, poems that are humorous, and poems that teach. In glancing through it quickly, there are a few lessons that use hymns or Christian poems.
ETA: I just looked at the back of the book and it says that it is designed to be used for one semester. :)
