  1. This looks very similar to the jungle mocassins I wear. (Though I do wear socks with it. I hate the feel of shoes without socks)
  2. I would wear jungle mocs even with capris. I wear my old pair to summer camp each summer -- in Texas and do not feel they are too hot.
  3. Yes we switched from adderall to methyl--something or other. Something our insurance does not cover so we use Goodrx and still pay $70+ a month. Adderall, which we cannot get at ALL, is the only one our insurance covers.
  4. Even when stable, an ADD medication patient needs to be seen every 6 months. If we change medication, the doctor needs to see them the next month.
  5. What apps are your kids using for tracking their monthlies?
  6. I am hesitant to do trials because I'm not organized enough to remember to cancel in time.
  7. It is things like this that have caused me more and more not to give reasons. I just say "No" and "We don't want <what you are "not selling">" etc
  8. It happens in public school too. Buy a 10 pk. Sharpen them all up and send several in a pencil caddy. A week later there is a standardized test and I'm checking pencil bags to make sure the kids are ready -- and where did all those pencils go? Then I'm ransacking my house trying to find more before they miss their bus! There's a definite reasons school supply lists have SO MANY PENCILS on them.
  9. One more thing to watch out if she's going to be rental hunting from a distance -- here in the Austin area there are a LOT of rental scams. It probably is not as big a problem for a apartment complex. But they are grabbing the pictures, etc for a rental house being advertised somewhere and then posting it themselves (with a different picture) People have even gone to tour the house and gotten a "number" to let themselves in. Etc But it's not the person who owns the house/is allowed to contract it. So once they send the deposit, etc they never get a key or anything.
  10. I have a teen son and I find it difficult to buy gifts for him 😞 Books, fidgets, favorite brands of clothes, shirts with specific themes. Sometimes a game.
  11. Poor little bird. what would she do if the door got shut and locked her nest away from her?
  12. So far. We'll see how long it lasts. I bought a Ozark Trail cup at Walmart that only lasted 3 months. That was really disappointing
  13. I remember your Stanley thread. That's why I looked up those cups before deciding to buy this one. To see if my interest in this cup meant I'd like that one instead.
  14. Laugh -- Bryan is "smaller town" we are going to. (Bryan as in Bryan/College Station. There are two cities right there where Texas A&M University is. Different Cities. Different school districts (I graduated high school from A&M Consolidated and we were NOT the same as Bryan High, thank you very much) -- but they back right up against each other. With a car, neither is far from the college. In fact, when I was in college, once I was babysitting in Bryan and for some reason did not want to call for a ride afterward so I just walked ALL The way across town back to my apartment near the university after mom came home. (During the day, not at night. But this was 1993-ish, before the days of cell phones, handheld GPS maps, etc)
  15. I guess I'd call it cute. I wonder if the husband ever did realize they were talking about different things It's interesting because yesterday I picked up a reduce cup that is somewhat similar to this. I saw it at Walgreens and liked it -- but then remembered the Stanley and thought it was sort of like that cup so I went to Amazon to look at the Stanley. And eventually decided to buy the cheaper cup at walgreens that was sitting in front of me.
  16. Here's an idea: Can they go to Texas living in an extended stay hotel while they search for a rental after they get there? Then they can get a in person feel for the apartment. (though honestly? Roaches are probably not avoidable in communal living quarters here) If he has a Driver's license where he is, getting a driver's license in Texas should not be difficult. We moved from Washington state and it was just a matter of going to the DMV and turning in the old license to get one for hte current state. (which does involve knowing what your address is I guess) You are lucky they are moving to Bryan/College Station. We are getting a state ID for my 15 year old son and when we went to make an appointment, EVERYTHING in the Austin area is booked up with no appointments available until, at the earliest, mid-July. Bryan had appointments available within a week and so we ended up booking for May 12 -- after his AP tests are complete and will be skipping a day of school to get it taken care of. (no weekend appointments)
  17. Would married student housing apply? Does her grad advisor have a recommendation? There's a strong homeschool group in College Station. I wonder if connecting up with them might help. My sister used to teach at One Day Academy there. Central Church has a strong college program and might have suggestions as well. (our current pastor used to be their college and career pastor. Which is evidently a very large program)
  18. My daughter and her 6th grade friend are on the phone RIGHT NOW talking about characters and plot points in this series. (Warriors by Erin Hunter)
  19. Yeah. The story does not quite hold together as in "He deserves it" when you realize how young he was Its normal for a kid that age to be self-absorbed.
  20. I realized I misppelled Merrell. Here's the link to the shoe: I started wearing them when pregnant with my now 15 year old son and loved them so much I just keep replacing them. I wear to both work and church. So they are very flexible. Women's Jungle Moc Casual Shoes | Merrell
  21. I love my Merreal Jungle Mocs. But they may be too flat for you
  22. I used Earth Breeze for a while. at first I loved them. Then i started to find paper clogs in my laundry and lost confidence my clothes were getting cleaned so we went back to the jug
  23. My daughter and I prefer the kind of sunglasses you put on over a regular glasses My son has had transitions this past year but is going back to regular glasses and clip on sunglasses. He doesn't like how long they stay dark inside the building. I have never used transitions because the main place I want sunglasses is driving and they don't work then My mom would turn her old glasses into prescription sunglasses by getting them tinted after getitng the new pair back. I have considered seeing if I could find somewhere willing to do that
  24. How? When I've done it there is no way to submit without a verification
