  1. My mom has had both the super expensive ones and Costco less expensive ones. Costco ones work fine for her. Fit definitely matters. So does fine motor skill. My mom has terrible arthritis and the pricey, small ones were hard for her to hold and get in. She chose a larger style with an over the ear wire the second time around bc they are easier for her to see and handle. ymmv
  2. Wow, slow day on the boards! I hope everyone is outside enjoying a pretty day, or getting a nap, or doing something fun. My hike was good. Strenuous, but not long. I have the badgework planned out and eyeballed our campsite. Will send an email to troop leadership Monday. Took the interstate route back, so I could see Dd. International festival on her campus. Gonna go look at crafts and get food from food trucks.
  3. Good morning! I am having coffee and b’fast, then headed out to a state park for the day. Trying to hold in my mind that the house and kitchen will not be clean or tidy when I come home. Low expectations, then I won’t be disappointed. Dinner is most likely take out from our favorite gyro place. There is a possibility that Dd will be home tonight? Enjoy your day!
  4. Unloaded the dishwasher. Got mom’s tax payment ready to mail. Hoping to get Dh to go to the PO and send it tomorrow. (Signature required. Not sending an important check without any tracking into the USPS void!) I need to spend the day at a state park, planning a hiking badge for 4th-6th grade girls, and hope to be outta here early tomorrow. Park is 2 hrs away. Glad the weather looks nice. Got a lacrosse team dinner planned and on the calendar. Doing a bit of prep cooking. Got some meat out of the freezer. Next up: Get my daypack ready for tomorrow.
  5. Dinner is made. I am just having my lunch leftovers.
  6. @TheReader @mommyoffive I agree. Toddlers were easy! And hilarious. My Ds is not a bad kid, just immature and oppositional. Trying to be patient and remember that I was young and knew everything and made stupid choices once too!
  7. Dinner is gochujang bowls, Ds’ request. Need to cook rice and prep the meat. In school pick up line now. Eta: Boy is grouchy bc of bad grades. Which, of course, are all the teacher’s fault… I’m never gonna make it til this one is launched….SO exhausting. every.single.day
  8. Lovely spring day here! The birds are loud and my rhododendron is getting close to blooming. Today: Shower ✔️ Thrift drop ✔️ YNAB ✔️ Meal planning some Grocery ✔️ Pack up Easter decor Go to mom’s - briefly ✔️ Lunch with friends ✔️ Boy from school to practice (Six more days of lacrosse; three games. Spring football begins 4/30.) Dinner is? Read
  9. I had some intermittent, mild nausea the first few months, but it went away. I feel fine. People taking this drug as Wegovy for weight loss take 4x the amount I take for diabetes, so maybe they have more side effects? Idk.
  10. Home from AHG. Third graders were precious at Board of Review! So fun! Did some tidying and organizing. All onboarding hoops jumped through except the background check/fingerprinting, which is early next week. Gonna read and wind down for bed. Looking forward to lunch with friends tomorrow!
  11. Hooray!! I hope it works well for you!! I have not had any supply issues for about a year now.
  12. Got gas Picked up Ds and checked in about homework. Headed to AHG
  13. Groceried. BOGOs at Publix, plus cream for the soup. Brrr! The temperature has dropped 15-20 degrees since this morning. Rain and wind have maple seedlings whirling down.
  14. Did some cooking and had lunch. Did banking, bills, and budget. Working on onboarding documents. Got stuck at the W4, which has to be done through their wizard - punted this to Dh since he just did our taxes and always complains that my witholding is done wrong. More to do when the W4 is complete… Meanwhile having hot tea and reading my book. Need to pick up a couple things at the grocery when I go to get Ds.
  15. It is explicitly stated in our public charter school annual documents that the school has the right to search the student and his belongings (locker, desk, backpack, computer) at any time and without notice. I know the same rules apply at our zoned schools. Maybe this varies by state or school district?
  16. Did some housekeeping and made b’fast. I have the windows open just a bit.
  17. Dentist referred me to an oral surgeon. Insurance covered some of it. Dh drove me there and home. No problems with the actual procedure or paperwork. I would get Rx for a few day’s worth of pain meds before leaving the office! AND an emergency number! I got dry socket and it was a holiday weekend, so no way to reach the surgeon or my dentist. I made do with clove oil (topical anaesthetic) and lots of ibuprofen, but it was pretty miserable. They did give me an Rx, but only for 24 hrs worth and with the dry socket, it was not enough.
  18. Thanks for starting us off, Amy! Drizzly and warm here. Boy is at school and I have made coffee. Today: Electronic chores! ✔️ Tutor online ✔️ Check in with mom? Make tomato soup ✔️ AHG Board of Review tonight. Need to go earlier than usual, but should also be done earlier. ✔️
  19. All home. Ds left his phone and earbuds in a teammate’s car. 🙄 And they lost again. Three games left. I am ready for this season to be over. Thankfully, they have a recovery day with the trainer tomorrow instead of regular practice. They are pretty tired and beat up. Spring football begins in three weeks. We need the change of pace, different vibe.
  20. Got meeting info. It’s kind of a bonus thing, meet n greet, non-essential. Glad, bc no way can I go. Important info meeting is in two weeks. I will be going to that. I have learned that for certain kinds of things, I must go myself. Dh doesn’t listen for the same things I do and is not generally a reliable narrator. Ds plays a sport at a school he doesn’t attend and the information flow is not always smooth between the two schools. Hoping the new coach will work on that some!
  21. Home from church. I love Wed night church, but am always glad when it wraps up for the year too. Two more weeks! Did some housekeeping. Trying to get accurate info about a meeting which was supposed to be 4/25, but now maybe is tomorrow? A meeting I don’t want to miss, but will have to if it is tomorrow. 😠☹️ Ds is riding back from the lacrosse game (almost an hour away) with another player. Not my favorite arrangement, but we had no choice without a team bus. Got emails for I-9 and other documentation stuff for my sub job. Too tired for that tonight. Thursday tackle. Next up: Jammies and a book until my guys both get home.
