Agree that “best” is not really a helpful term. We use Trader Joe’s with flouride. Tastes less sweet than most others to me.

Taking an extra week to get all the way well before jumping in to the ps substitute job. Meanwhile…. On my tutoring days, I got a short gig for early May doing some end of year literacy assessments, so a few hundred dollars extra into Ds’ car fund. And I nudged two private schools with whom I have applied. One interview next week. The other definitely interested, but just slow on the process. Trying to follow lots of possible paths simultaneously here. Praying to find something that is a good fit!

I am sipping coffee and watching the mockingbirds and robins come for the mealworms I scattered on my windowsill. The sunshine on my rhododendron right in front of the window is lovely. Spring is very pretty here. To Do: Take medication ✔️ Leave a note with brief, clear instructions for Dh. ✔️ Pack a lunch and a snack. Fill my water bottle. ✔️ Double check my daypack. ✔️ Drive to see Dd and drop off a few things for her. ✔️ Drive to the state park where our camping trip will now happen. Check out the hiking trails for my badge and the camping area. Drive home in time to pick up eggs from our CSA. (Need cash!) Football parents meeting Leftovers for dinner. Think about tomorrow and about what I need to take/prep. Make lists! Read and wind down. Go to bed early.

My kids loved to watch all things polar and cold in the summer when it’s so hot and humid here. Polar bears, penguins, polar expeditions, the Iditarod… Also cold desserts and treats. Ice cream, popsicles, ice box pies… Ice sculptures, ice skating…

I would just call and talk to a real person. Might have to go up the chain a bit to get someone with experience and authority. Don’t settle for the first person if you don’t get answers.

Picked up Ds Took down the tent Had mexican layered dip for dinner - not super healthy, but tasty. Still undecided about camping this weekend. Drat this cough! I can go just for the day Saturday, but that is not nearly as fun. And my food is already paid for. Thinking I go Friday night and see how it goes. I can always come home after dinner on Saturday if Friday night is terrible. Gonna get ready for bed and start some laundry.

Yeah, kitchen science stuff is fun! We did that in middle school with a scouting badge and some library books. Messy, but interesting and fun.

Reading down the thread, it seems like some schools require digital payment, so still parents’ money. We only looked at 6 schools, so I guess not a representative sample, but they all have free laundry.

Tent is up. Will work fine, though it needs better stakes. It is lighter, easier to put up, and better in rain/wind than my old one. But hotter too, bc of the full rain fly. Trade off. It’s fine bc I rarely put up a tent in a spot with full afternoon sun and am not likely to be in my tent when it’s nice outside. Hammock in the shade or playing in the water on a hot day! It took me about 20 minutes for the first set-up. It will go faster in the future. Will give it a once over with waterproof spray sometime soon. Still haven’t decided whether or not I’m camping this weekend. Skipping church tonight, definitely. Plenty of food here. Taking a break and drinking water. Whew! It’s hot in the sun!
