  1. 1. I'm still really miffed that" The Sopranos" came to an end. 2. I'm really, really looking forward to the new season of "Dexter". and my newest one #3- I don't have a clue what Nutella is!? :tongue_smilie:
  2. This is so funny to me because for the last few months my ds 7 has been suggesting the same thing. LOL!:) 3. This last one is not something I like but rather something I wanted to do..once. (My dh still rags on me for it.) When I was younger, I wanted to travel the country by hopping on a boxcar. It just sounded like fun.:tongue_smilie:
  3. Somewhere in WWE (I don't recall the page # and I don't have it in front of me) SWB states something to the effect that this isn't part of Spelling lessons, if the child asks how to spell a word tell them how. The focus in WWE is getting children writing- doing copywork, narration and dictation on their level with constant progression. So, while I would worry about spelling (and I am having to remediate my 10 yo ds) when doing WWE I wouldn't worry too much about it. Work on Spelling and WWE as seperate subjects, there will come a time when it will matter more, but for now I'm going with SWB's recommendations. JMHO, HTH :)
  4. It sounds like your on the right track. I would just figure out where her comfort zone in reading is and get some books on that level and progress from there. That is if I'm understanding correctly, it seems your worried that she doesn't comprehend the 5th grade reading lists from TWTM (?). HTH! :)
  5. I heartily recommend Pathway Readers and/or McGuffey's Readers. :)
  6. Gosh, that sounds just like what I posted, only in more detail. I'm assuming this post was actually meant for Janna (?) :001_smile:
  7. I have two boys and I don't agree with this article AT ALL.
  8. I agree. I already laughingly (is that a word?) refer to some of our meals as "_______ meat surprise".:001_huh:
  9. Why, read the book first, of course... It doesn't always happen that way, but is my preference :)
  10. Aw, maaan! I knew I should have waited. I'm not even gonna tell you what I paid for mine.:glare:
  11. How awful! It's always *something*. I'm adding this to my list of things to worry about.:glare: Good luck to you.:)
  12. When I clicked on the link I got a pop up ad for a registry cleaner. Anyone else have this problem?
  13. Happy Birthdaaaaaaaaay...and many more!! :)
  14. :iagree: and I'm waiting on some TOG materials I recently ordered. This has me worried.
  15. I was shocked to see this on my msn homepage earlier. I feel so sorry for EE. and I'm still shocked, I mean, I thought he was a nice guy. :001_huh:
  16. That's what we'll begin doing soon. I'm going to do SOTW with older and younger just like if I were only doing it with the younger and then give the older assignments like decribed in TWTM using the Kingfisher Encyclopedia of History. Of course, we'll do recommended reading and if older ds is interested he can do some activity pages and projects from the activity guide. HTH :)
