  1. Necessary? No. Important, yes. I think they are important just like any other exam. Focussing just a little more, managing the stress beforehand, receiving constructive criticism and praise, an official certificate, not to mention feeling proud of work well done. I think of it as a right of passage before entering the next grade. We usually test in June with the end of the school year.
  2. Christina, that sounds painful! Are you putting a cold compress on it regularly? It will help diminish the swelling that will come in the next few days. If you feel you don't need to be seen but are in pain, perhaps a quick trip to see a pharmacist for pain relief (I believe tylenol #1 are kept behind the counter). Take good care of yourself.:grouphug:
  3. Is she licking her dry, chapped lips ? I suggest lanoline applied as needed.
  4. A definite no from this Canadian. Far too dangerous.
  5. Does anybody know of a good children's yoga dvd? It's on DD9's wish list along with a yoga mat. TIA, Isabelle
  6. Impressive!! :001_smile: What a delicious meal and comforting day ahead. You sound like a fabulous mama, enjoy your day!
  7. I love my Lole winter coat. The sleeves are nice and long and it covers my thighs. You can't go wrong with North Face either. (When the weather is cold, thermal underwear is a must for me too.)
  8. I'm so glad you went in to be seen. Take care of yourself and sweet babe!
  9. Canadian here! I would move farther up north in a heartbeat! I love the cold and winter sports as much as my warm (short) summer. Seeing all 4 different seasons is very important to me. So my vote is yes!
  10. Many hugs, you are an inspiration! :grouphug:
  11. My son had this as well. Dentist told us to have him wiggle tooth in for 10 seconds and out for 10 seconds. Do this 5 times a day. He had this tooth for a few months before we started doing this. It took about 2 weeks for it to come out. In a week, it was standing straight.
  12. A long nail is a dirty nail. (Although I think a french manicure is beautiful and feminine.) Your health and the health of those around you will be better with short clean nails.
  13. - a disposable camera and small photo album - small boxes of sweet cereal - candy, stickers, a movie pass - an old fashion theme; an orange, nuts, coins, candy Keep it simple, I think half the fun is knowing the gifts are small (not overwhelming!)
  14. Don't stay home, go to the ER. Pack yourself a bag of comfort items and go. Your symptoms may or may not be related, but your chest pain alone dictates a trip to emerg. Your knee also needs attention. Be safe. Isabelle
  15. I'm so happy for you! The storage in the living room is great, the kitchen has a cozy feel and the screened porch, oh my! (I might be feeling a little jealousy.:001_smile:) Here is to many years of happiness for your family in your new home! Isabelle
  16. So... when are you due?? :D Seriously, our society is so fast paced, rush here, rush there, planning everything to the half hour. Good for you for slowing down, living this moment with peace. You will be very busy in the months to come, it's hard not knowing when baby comes. Enjoy this time with your family. That being said, there is a limit to how long a placenta is healthy, so do take care of yourself (as I'm sure you are). Wishing you the best, Isabelle
  17. ChandlerMom, As I sit here on the edge of PMS, your words resonate deeply. Thank you for posting these wise words.
  18. I have gone on a few camping trips with friends before getting married and loved every second. Since then, something has changed and I do not feel safe without a man around or a large group of people. Two is too small a number for me to be comfortable with, sorry. Perhaps if I was very familiar with the location and knew the owners, or another mom and daughter duo were coming with us, I might consider going.
  19. Oh JoAnn, the doc sounds really thorough, I hope you feel comforted by this consult. Keep up the great care and take care of yourself as well!:grouphug:
  20. :grouphug:I agree, you need something to do, a reason to put a little mascara on! Could you volunteer, perhaps in a school, one or two days a week? Sometimes that first step is the hardest. Enjoy your stay, make it your own!:grouphug:
  21. Hi JoAnn, Has she vommited at all since midnight? Is her pulse 160 at rest? How is her overall energy level? 1. Can you give her small amounts (one ounce) of diluted juice every 15 minutes, small pieces of banana (for potassium), a few crackers and BM of course. 2.Hopefully, she can keep something down, I would have her seen by MD (sometime today) as she seems to be working very hard to get better. Hope things get better soon:grouphug:
