Hoping the appointment goes well. I guess my area has enough ophthalmologists because neither dh nor I have had any super long waits. My regular ophthalmologist visit usually takes 2 to 3 hours but I am having multi0le tests being done including visual fields that take some time, My dh has shorter appts. My retinal specialist appt. Is about an hour to hour and a half. My worse wait recently was 3.5 hours at the vascular surgeon's office. I knOw that my area has a shortage of endocrinologists.

So very true. I have been wrongly diagnosed so many times. In many places, you can be put in a mental ward involuntarily for something like 48 hours. Then you have a hearing I believe. But the smart thing to do, is always go voluntarily because that is how you get out faster. I also agree with other posters who said there is no availability. I hate that so many companies pay their executives such outrageous wages. and it's idiotic economically too. The executives aren't the super smart people who star new companies and new technologies. I often complain about their low salaries which means they pass less taxes on their income than many of us. But then the executives don't act right and people unionize or quit.
