Jzsnow
RIght now is a somewhat dark green. While I like the color, it is too dark for school. What color is on your school wall? Jessica
kokotg
Ours is brown, but that's because it used to be our bedroom, and I'm not up for repainting it yet. But my friend just painted her schoolroom a nice grey-blue, and it looks great. If I were repainting mine, I think I'd go for that or maybe just a khaki-ish color. Tap
Silver Sage http://www.restorationhardware.com/rh/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod1048015&navAction=jump PS There were several threads about this a few months ago, you may want to search the forums for more answers. Chris in VA
Mine is white, but I like a buttery yellow. Nice and light, cheerful and sunny.
Michelle My Bell
I decided to go with a soft blue with chocolate brown woodwork. The ceiling is white. Our theme is nature, so we chose colors from nature. Our accents are nature inspired. We have a green tree in the corner. Michelle
Michelle in MO
If you go to Sherwin-Williams' website, they have a really cool Color Visualizer which you can use---FREE!---to help explore colors on your schoolroom walls. You would select the room type that best represents the overall layout of your schoolroom, and then just click and drag on the hundreds of Sherwin-William colors. It really works! It should give you a fairly good idea of what colors will look good on those walls. I used this tool when we had part of our house painted on the inside, and it was very helpful. Good luck! Tess in the Burbs
ok, it's not what I wanted, but I found curtains to match it, so we kept it :-)
DarlaS
I overcame my fear and painted my sons room ORANGE. I love it and so does he (The blue area is his closet). It was a wee bit nerve wracking as this is a manufactured home and prepping those walls was no picnic (The room also got new doors, trim and flooring). It also took four coats of paint. http://www.picturetrail.com/sfx/album/view/10877348 I would totally do this in a schoolroom if it wasn't the family room. As it is, I'm inspired by Tess's bright green (looks turquoise on my screen which is a color I *love*). I don't buy white paint--unless it's ceiling paint. :D ETA: This room is on the northwest corner of our house and never gets any direct sunlight. You would not believe how many shades of orange were actually too drab. Bring samples home and try them if you can. DarlaS
I'm not really sure - which is odd since I tend to remember stuff like this (for instance, our family room is "Donegal Tweed"). It is basically a nice aqua. I want to paint my master bedroom with this, so I better find that paint chip! If you go here and choose "cool blues": http://www.valspar.com/explore-colors/choose-a-color.html I think it may have been fresh mist or aquatic mist. 5kidsforME
If you go to the sherwin williams website (or is it Duron?) the color of our school room is called swimming.
Evergreen State Sue
Ours is a Behr paint called Clam Chowder, but really it is a yellow with white trim. I like it because is is very cheery. It seems to go well with the math posters on the wall and the colors of text books on the bookshelves.
Katiebug_1976
I think a soft yellow would be a good color
