Good morning!

It's a wild and windy morning here, but nothing out of the ordinary. Wind speed is maybe 35 mph right now. Hopefully, this wind warning business turns out to be a big nothing. Ds19 is home and will probably sleep the day away. He's been swamped with work the past few weeks and could use some rest. Ds21 will be home later today.

  • office work (finish the last few things in my basket)
  • order dd's phone (been waiting to order it until today because their Black Friday sale starts and it is $200 off)
  • place Amazon & Chewy orders
  • make hummus, cranberry hot pepper jelly, mashed potatoes, & gravy (These are the only things I'm actually making for Thanksgiving. Everything else I bought pre-made and just has to be put in the oven. Woo hoo!)
  • get a few things out of the freezer to thaw
  • do a little cleaning
  • dinner: veggie brats & burgers, fries, slaw
  • watch a movie tonight

Hooray, no ants this morning!

Reline shelves and return things to their proper places!

Check math and make sure kids do some school.

Make a house cleaning to-do list for dh and kids.

Quick run out to get milk, bagels and ice. Waiting on clean milk jar in the dishwasher.

Prep for tomorrow! Tidy the fridge. Make dressing. Chop veggies. Get out turkey roaster pan. Make cranberry sauce

Make dinner early.

Put Advent wreath frame somewhere I will remember it! Make sure Messiah cd is available - our Advent family worship this year goes through the music, a little each day.

Tonight: switch the turkey over to brine and set up the kitchen for getting it roasting quite early tomorrow. Pastured bird cooks faster than a commercial one, but it is still 21 lbs!

Good morning! dh and dd2 left super early for am practice and then to pick up the car in the other neighborhood. I have to go to the grocery store and take ds3 to hit with a friend. Then probably make some food- if I can get requests from the kids (still sleeping) and figure out what to do tomorrow.

  • coffee/paper
  • clean up a little
  • make a list
  • ds3 to tennis
  • grocery store- dd1 is helping with the list now
  • pick up ds3
  • do some baking
  • pick up ds2 at airport!

Have a great day!

Ugh, I overslept because I forgot the reasons why I needed to get up early today:  kid to horse riding, garbage out, reports done and emailed, shower, kids to chiropractor, more reports out ....  So it is the work reports that will suffer.

Done:

  • Garbage out.
  • Mail brought in & sorted.
  • Kid2 to horse riding.
  • Caught up on emails and social media.
  • Kid1 is getting ready to leave in 15 minutes.
  • Drinking 1st cup of coffee.

To do:

  • Shower.
  • Pick up Kid2.
  • Kids to chiropractor.
  • Work reports.
  • Gather documents re my kids for school registration.
  • Go to registration meeting.
  • More work reports.
  • Buy wine at some point today.
  • Lots of other things I am hoping to get to.

That sounds lovely, do you have a recipe?

Sort of a method, since I don't measure. I use two cans Leseur peas, drained. 2 or 3 chopped boiled eggs, some chopped onion-I used dehydrated today. Sweet relish and dill relish-maybe 2 tablespoons sweet and one of dill. Shredded cheese of your choice. Chopped bacon bits. Stir it all together with Miracle Whip. My mom prefers mayo, but I like miracle whip. I have added chopped water chestnuts and pimento and that's good too. Serve chilled. It's a tradition in my family.

Made the cranberry hot pepper jelly and baked the apple and pumpkin pies. I'm going to wait until tomorrow to make the mashed potatoes, since I'm out of fridge room. Also, dh said he doesn't mind if we don't have gravy - yay! I was only going to make it because I thought he wanted it. It's a veggie gravy and involves lots of time spent chopping and stirring, so I'm happy to take that off my list.

It has been cold and nasty all day. Horses have been kind acting nutty because of the wind.

Got a load of lime brought up, in case we have icy paddocks this weekend.

Ds21 is on his way home now.

Maybel, the rescued goat I've been watching on YouTube, finally had her babies! Four of them, and they are cute as can be. These are the first babies she's been allowed to keep (the others were taken away shortly after being born 🙁), and it is so sweet to see her doting on them.

Up next:

Lots of laundry, horse chores, and dinner
