Jean in Newcastle Posted November 10, 2018 Share Posted November 10, 2018 Not sure if the O sound is the same in your options? The first one made me want to pronounce the O as in Bio. The second, as in biography. Does that make sense? I do the second. That seems to be the standard dictionary pronunciation as well, which makes sense, since it's shorthand for "biographical picture," and "bio" by itself is always pronounced with a long o (no one says "I got a C in Bi-uh" or "I just read a really good bi-ah"). If I heard someone say it in a way that rhymed with myopic (bi-OP-ic?), I would honestly have no clue what that meant.
