Pick up my mom and take her to the hospital for gall bladder surgery. Stay until she's doing well in recovery and her friend comes to replace me.

Check in on kids.

Toast pumpkin seeds.

Piano lessons

Trick or Treat, if it doesn't rain.

Spend the night at mom's.

dinner??

I hope your mom's surgery went well, Scout!

Good morning!  My dad is coming today and spending the night to help us knock out some minor maintenance things in the house.  Co-op day is today for DS14 and while I'd love to skip it I have two bins of books I want to drop off.

-coffee
-DS17 off to school (he is at least somewhat speaking to us)
-DS14 to co-op
-call one private school in new location to enquire about January admission for DS17
-drop off donations, start rounding up more donations
-do house maintenance stuff (my goals:  all ceiling fixtures/fans, all baseboards thoroughly cleaned, scrub grout in high traffic areas)
-make sure DS14 is preparing for Spanish final, history midterm, and computer midterm)
-carve pumpkins (I guess there is no room left to procrastinate)
-probably run to Home Depot at least 5 times for things we thought we had but can't locate
-hand out candy tonight
-dinner:  tacos

Good morning! Happy Halloween!?

Thinking of your mom today, Scout! I hope all goes well.

  • school w/dd
  • office work (got lots done yesterday, now I need to file and organize)
  • start a five-day course of dewormer for two horses (they are going to be so ornery and I don't blame them - I'm sure it tastes awful)
  • post office
  • take dog to vet at 2:00 for checkup, shots, and Adequan injection
  • dust and vacuum basement
  • make a pitcher of hibiscus tea
  • dinner: use up the produce in my fridge to make fajitas
  • read and relax tonight and watch a little hockey (game starts at 9:00, I will be asleep by 9:15)

Good morning! Happy Halloween! I hope your mom's surgery goes well, Scout. Not too much is going on today- tons of tennis, school, and dd2 is "working from home." She has subs in her two main classes today and I saw little point in her sitting in class, aggravating her hip in those chairs to work on papers, when she could eat, nap and work here.

  • coffee/paper
  • write
  • pick up ds3 from tennis
  • school with ds3
  • work with dd2
  • chores/bills
  • ds3 to tennis
  • pick up library books
  • dd2 to practice/Halloween plans after
  • pick up ds3
  • Be around for TOT'ers.

Have a great day!

Howdy!  The day started out pretty good.  Then got stressful.  Today is a deadline day.  Let's see how we do.

  • Got up at 5:something because kid wanted to study for a test.
  • Got some work out, yay!!
  • Celebrated a birthday with cake for breakfast.
  • Kids off to the school bus on time.
  • Cleaned the kitchen.
  • Took out the garbage, including about 50 boxes that were in the garage.
  • Got some more work out.
  • Work issue came up, mostly solved it, some is still open.
  • Caught up on social media etc.

To do:

  • More coffee.
  • More work.
  • Was hoping to do some domestic stuff ....
  • Kids coming home on the bus - they need to do their homework early.
  • Kids trick-or-treat.
  • Birthday dinner at Cheesecake Factory.
  • Kids to bed.
  • Work.

Trick or Treat was fun.

Kids and I are now at my mom's for the night, since she needs someone to stay with her after her surgery.

Kids are in bed, laundry is running, mom is settled though feeling crummy - nausea from the anesthesia (Zofran is not helping much).

Anyone here have gall bladder surgery experience? I think being 82 multiplies the post surgery difficulties.

I have to stay up another 40 minutes to give her the next medications, thrn I can sleep.

I am wiped out!
