Melissa in Australia
So we were skimmed of just under $2500 on our bank card. We went to the bank as soon as we noticed. They have canceled our cards. apparently it can take as much as 52 working days for the bank to refund us. I am definitely going to be using one of those metal covers for my bank card from now on. EMS83
:grouphug: I'm sorry!! We've had that happen twice this year, not as much money taken. It's a hassle. Mine was shopping on unsecure websites, though.
PinkTulip
I'm so sorry. One more thing you don't need to be dealing with - and that is a lot of money. I hope your bank moves quickly and it's not even close to the 52 days.
ScoutTN
Wow, that is really slow for reimbursement! I hope it actually takes much less time. Here, all we have to do is sign the fraud affadavit and the money is back in about 3-4 days. .
mommyoffive
Ugh I am sorry. I hope it all gets resolved fast.
Annie G
The 52 days to get your money returned kind of feels like you're being skimmed twice. So sorry jerks took your money. Hope the bank comes through much faster than you anticipate.
plansrme
Ugh, I feel your pain. In the last year or so, we've had (1) nearly $10,000 taken from my daughter's account (that was more than was in it, by the way); (2) my wallet stolen out of my car (perp got $30's worth of gas with my debit card before I got back to my car, but the real damage was to my car); (3) my credit card compromised (someone in Maine bought a bunch of pizza with it); and (4) my husband's credit card compromised (someone bought carpet in Oregon). Every single time, it is a PITA. It is also the reason that I am getting a second credit card and that I keep several days' worth of cash hidden in my house at all times. Not 52 days' worth, though--yikes!

Liz CA
This has happened to me - thankfully not to the tune of $2500 - and I have been running every single purchase / transaction through a credit card so nobody can access my bank account. I hope your bank works faster than 52 days! :grouphug:

ILiveInFlipFlops
52 days is crazy!!! This is why I don't use my debit cards anywhere but legit ATMs. We have two friends who have constant problems with their debit cards being compromised, and it's a huge hassle for them every time. At one point the bank insinuated that one friend was scamming them and that they might not get their money back after all. I really hope the bank moves much faster than you think :grouphug:
