stephanier.1765
My mother just had knee replacement surgery and I offered to fill my Kindle Fire with audiobooks to help pass the time and to help her relax. She prefers psychological thrillers and mysteries, oddly enough neither of which I read or read very often. I would be grateful for any suggestions you might have. Thanks! Kareni
It's not what you asked for, but I see these two print Kindle books are free. They're described as psychological thrillers. Perhaps she can read them when she's feeling better. These are by Blake Pierce. Before he Kills (A Mackenzie White … and Before He Sees (A Mackenzie White … Regards, Kareni
Laura Corin
The Inspector Gamache series is interesting, set in a liberal atmosphere in French Canada. The Grave Tattoo by Val McDermid combines murder mystery with literary detection and great landscape.

6packofun
Dean Koontz's new book, The Silent Corner, is a thriller with a female Jack Reacher type of character. I really enjoyed it! It's first in a series, too, so I am looking forward to the others.
meena
I recently finished The Dry by Jane Harper and loved it. The author does a great job of layering of two mysteries--one present-day, one past. The drought-ridden setting is an integral part of the plot without feeling over-described. I think the weakest part was character development, as the reader is trying to get to know the main character while also trying to figure out his part in crimes past and present, as well as navigate the cast of characters in the small town. I didn't listen to the audio, but think the Aussie narrator would make the experience even richer.
mumto2
Julia Spencer Fleming writes an interesting series about a female Episcopal Priest, similar to Inspector Gamache.
Socalmom
The Inspector Gamache series is interesting, set in a liberal atmosphere in French Canada. I got my mom hooked on Inspector Gamache. I would recommend listening to them in order. The first one is Still Life. She also likes the Memory Man series by David Baldacci. stephanier.1765
Perfect! Now I'm out of credits but at least she'll have plenty to listen to and there were plenty that intrigued me as well. I might just let her keep my Kindle Fire so she has plenty of time to listen to all these books especially since she is getting her hip done in December. Thanks all!
