Help me choose audio books for my mother

I recently finished The Dry by Jane Harper and loved it. The author does a great job of layering of two mysteries--one present-day, one past. The drought-ridden setting is an integral part of the plot without feeling over-described. I think the weakest part was character development, as the reader is trying to get to know the main character while also trying to figure out his part in crimes past and present, as well as navigate the cast of characters in the small town. I didn't listen to the audio, but think the Aussie narrator would make the experience even richer.

The Inspector Gamache series is interesting, set in a liberal atmosphere in French Canada.

I got my mom hooked on Inspector Gamache.  I would recommend listening to them in order.  The first one is Still Life.

She also likes the Memory Man series by David Baldacci.
