Dmmetler
DD got this via e-mail this morning. This is the CC that was her first choice campus (due to proximity to home and because it's the Allied Health/Nursing campus so offers a lot of higher science courses) and that was most picky about a lot of things. Guess ACT came through and got her scores there :)., The kid has really needed a "win"-DA sapped her confidence. Now, to see if she can actually get registered for the classes she wants. There are three math classes and two science classes that she has prereqs for, so hopefully at least one will have space available when she is able to register. We'll go over after Thanksgiving and get her ID :). She's pretty excited about officially having a .edu email address (because invariably, not having one messes up her student registration for conferences, etc). XXXXXX, Congratulations on your acceptance to Southwest Tennessee Community College! Southwest is your best choice for quality education and we are pleased to serve you throughout your college experience. You will receive an official Acceptance Letter by mail at the mailing address you provided on the application.

Angie in VA
I don't know what DA is that shook her confidence a bit, but yay for this news! So glad she has her .edu email account too. I don't see all your posts (and don't tell your dd, but I am no fan of snakes! I found a dead copperhead baby outside our basement door and called DH at work and told him to come home and kill the dead baby snake, lol.), but I think your dd is amazing! What a great kid. :)
quark
 Brought a wide grin to my face. So glad she is happy. Don't want to rain on your parade...I would be very wary of CC math classes for someone who likes math (unless you know for sure this CC is different). If she wants a strong foundation, I would wait till she can place into calculus. Even then, it's not going to rock her like AoPS does but it will at least be more respectable (I hope) in quality.

Nan in Mass
That's wnderful! The community college acceptance my first homeschooling highschooler got remained the most triumphant, reassuring thing in all the college stuff we've done.
