dancingmama
I'm looking for board game suggestions for learning the periodic table and/or chemistry. What have you tried or heard of?
cmarthur
This site has several games. I haven't used them yet. http://ellenjmchenry.com/homeschool-freedownloads/chemistry-games/index.php
stlily
I have a friend who wrote a blog post where she compiled a list of chemistry resources, a couple of which were games. Here is the link: http://adventuresinmommydom.org/ultimate-guide-chemistry-middle-school/ Also, this is what I found on the Rainbow Resources website: http://www.rainbowresource.com/searchspring.php?q=chemistry+games Specifically the Element O game but there were others. Hope this helps.
sweetpea3829
Not a game however....I highly recommend these beautiful puzzles.... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PY2H4IU/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K1OO6QO/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 You've probably already come across this resource, but in case you haven't... Highly recommend this book: https://www.amazon.com/Elements-Visual-Exploration-Every-Universe/dp/1579128955/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1471330516&sr=1-1&keywords=Elements Need a good fiction recommendation? Preview it first, as some of the content is questionable, however I read this outloud to my kids (screening certain things as we went)... https://www.amazon.com/Itch-Explosive-Adventures-Element-Hunter/dp/1454914270/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1471330589&sr=1-1&keywords=Itch

SanDiegoMom
We have a board game called Elementeo. The kids just don't play it a lot so I don't know how good it is!
goldenecho
You can play periodic table of elements Battleship: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/259097784789283681/ Also, though it isn't what you were looking for, I just happened to stumble on this video by "They Might Be Giants" about elements... https://www.pinterest.com/pin/259097784791870860/
sweetpea3829
OH! I just remembered....there's an ap from Toca Boca. I think it's Toca Boca Lab. It's not the most scientific, but it does allow the user to play around with the elements.
Rachel
Following. We are doing chemistry this year so I bought a placemat with the periodic table printed on it, my son has been way more interested in it than I expected.

mellifera33
I want this game, but my kids aren't old enough to really get into it yet. As soon as they are, though, Compounded is going on my shopping list!

Kareni
My daughter learned all of the chemical elements (known at that time) from Tom Lehrer's song The Elements. Regards, Kareni

LMD
During my search on this topic, I found the game Quest for Arete. http://questforarete.com When I enquired however, I discovered that they didn't sell it in or to Australia. Boo. Then, the wonderful customer service people offered to send me a free copy (I just cover shipping)! I haven't got it yet, so I'll update with a review when I do, but these guys are good people.
