Ottakee
Just wondering what the thoughts are on My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2.
OnMyOwn
I haven't seen it, but my husband commented that it got one and a half stars yesterday morning. Too bad, because the original was hilarious.
gingersmom
It was enjoyable and I didn't fall asleep like I usually do :)
sophiasapientia
Loved the original film. I went into this one with low expectations based on the bad reviews. It had some funny moments and it was nice to see the cast together again. Beyond that, it felt forced and lacking. Not something that I'd watch again. Ottakee
I saw it with a friend yesterday. When the first one came out (14 years ago if you can believe that) we saw it 3 times that weekend as we loved it so much. I have never before or since paid to see a movie more than once in a theater. I enjoyed this one but it was not nearly as funny. It had its funny moments but I thought it was more touching/poignant than super funny. Some of the moments between her parents were really touching....esp the older I get.
zimom
Any way to watch the original My Big Fat Greek Wedding again before going to the movies to watch 2? I don't see it on Netflix or Hulu.
jenn-
I really liked it. I won't run out and watch it in the movie theater again, but I might buy it when it comes out. It hard funny parts and some that brought me to tears (probably because I have nearing 16yo dd and could relate).
nd293
Any way to watch the original My Big Fat Greek Wedding again before going to the movies to watch 2? I don't see it on Netflix or Hulu. We're in Australia, so slightly different Netflix, but it's worth saying that we struggled to find the movie even though it WAS there. I can't remember how we found it now - I think it came up recommended under something else I had watched. I just searched for it again, and it's not coming up but my activity history shows we watched it two weeks ago. Very odd.
Rachel
I enjoyed it, it is not a must see in the theater though.

Taking advantage of the sequel release.
Susan C.
You should be able to get the original for a pretty low cost at Target or WalMart if streaming doesn't have it.
Butter
It's DVD only on Netflix right now. It'll probably be back to streaming in a few months. That's what often happens when a sequel comes out.
