Hobbes
We like to do chapters or long sections (alongside individual Sunday School verses occasionally, etc) - I find it's more 'bang for my buck' if you will, because it's easier to just keep flowing into the next verse than to introduce a whole new verse every time we do memory work. Also, I like the mind training that longer memory sections give. That said, our girls have memorized: Psalm 1, Isaiah 40, Hebrews 11, John 14:1-17, Psalm 145. I feel like I'm forgetting one. I love all of those passages. We just finished Psalm 145 and I plan to get into Philippians 2 after the holidays. I also like to take a chunk of time between passages to do review so that they don't lose the old ones.
Holly
We mostly use verses from SCM: https://simplycharlottemason.com/planning/curriculum-guide/scripture-memory/ I like that there are a variety of passage lengths. Each year has a longer passage to work on. I printed out several of their Verse Packs over the summer and I've been picking and choosing from them. Perogi
At times I've matched up verses to whatever were studying in Bible at the time. The other thing we enjoy is the Seeds Family Worship CDs - scripture set to music!
Slache
We've done Psalm 23, John 1:1-7 and everything in here. http://www.amazon.com/My-ABC-Bible-Verses-Hiding/dp/1581340052 I highly, highly recommend this book. :)
OvercomingSchool
We just finished Psalm 23. We also did parts of Genesis 1, Psalm 1, John 1, and Luke 2. I'm trying to get back into Scripture memory which I'd somehow let slip for awhile. I love all the suggestions!

ByGrace3
We are using Mega Verses http://www.megaverses.comand are very happy with it. I love that we are learning longer passages instead of a verse here or there.

I think repetition but also the extended passages makes this possible.

happypamama
I like to vary the lengths of the verses. Shorter ones breed motivation, while long ones are a longer term goal. We use the Scripture memory system from SimplyCharlotteMason.com, and the verse packs there are good for suggestions. For my little ones, I pull verses from Susan and Richie Hunt's My ABC Bible Verses.
Mystie
We've been doing Scripture memory for 8 years now and I have kept a record of what we've added to our binders here: http://www.simplyconvivial.com/memory The page includes other memory work we've done, too, like poetry and mottos.
Susan in TN
Psalm 24 Psalm 118:1-29 Ephesians 2:1-10 (my favorite because of it's beautiful presentation of the Gospel and two of the most important words - "But God") Edited December 18, 2015 by Susan in TN
