Why do UTIs wait until nighttime...a mystery of the universe

Definitely get the stuff to numb it up, the antibiotics will take a day or so to work.

And yes, always at night. The worst was when I got one while camping and it was a several minute walk to the bathrooms. I walked that route about 7 times that night. In the dark, with bugs and spiders and who knows what.

I've only had two UTIs in my life. I can't type the language that I would like to use to describe them.

The last one hit with a force (fever, chills, nausea, massive groin pain that wouldn't let up - like contractions except it didn't ever relax) on a Friday right before lunch. My OB/GYN office never called back, but heaven-sent DH came home early from work, hauled me to the local doc right before they closed for the weekend, and took care of me until I was recognizable again.

I hope you are feeling better soon!
