Southern Ivy
I came down with a pretty violent stomach virus yesterday and have a severe dehydration headache now. I don't trust my body to handle Tylenol or ibuprofen right now, so I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to get this ungodly pounding to stop. I can't even sleep because my head hurts so much. :( (I'm taking in small amounts of fluids, but not a lot right now.)
zoobie
Ice pack on your head and drink something with electrolytes. Sometimes a soak in a tub with Epsom salts helps.
yucabird
Pedialite (sp?) or another electrolite (sp?) solution: it tastes disgusting but I find small sips help me a lot when I am ill.
Tammyla
You poor thing... Ginger ale or tea might be okay for a sensitive stomach; pear juice is also very gentle and soothing. I would also drink something with electrolytes. Hope you feel better.
Kiara.I
Coconut water? Hope you feel better soon!
In The Great White North
It's not going to go away til you're re-hydrated. Tea with honey. (Start with mint tea) When the stomach can handle it, add lemon Emergen C (not a whole packet). Popsicles. Take a shower or bath
redsquirrel
I've been there and I am so sorry you are feeling ill. Weak mint tea....suck on ice cubes etc. I keep some powdered coconut electrolytes in the house now, for just such situations. But just sip what will stay down slowly. I saw someone mentioned popsicles, does that tempt you at all? Some sorbet? Apple sauce?
MEmama
I'm in the same place, but able to drink water. Took an Emergen-C this morning and had miso soup for lunch. Anything with liquids will help--I like the sorbet idea! :) Hope you get plenty of rest and feel better soon.

Wish I had popsicles, sorbet, mint tea, or anything really. lol Sprite Zero and Gatorade are my options today. But, I have finally been able to keep a decent amount of fluids down, so the headache is going away, slowly.

bolt.
Gatorade is an excellent choice.
Kerileanne99
2-3 ounces of pickle juice. I kid you not. Professional athletes use it for muscle cramps and dehydration. It works extremely rapidly, then you can continue all fluids.
