Slache
And.... it's almost booya time.... is Slash lurking around the corner somewhere? Slash's footie is healed up enough that Slash is running around like a wild woman again. I'm blowing off the rest of the school day, but I haven't told my children so they think they are being sneaky and avoiding their work. This absolutely boggles my mind. I'm extremely scheduled. I have to be. It's how my brain works. If it were 9:30 and we hadn't started the things that were supposed to be started by 9:30 my children would think I needed to go to the hospital. I'm not so mental that we can't take a day off. but if school starts at 9 then school starts at 9. Even if the house is on fire. On an unrelated note people often ask me if I'm autistic. I wonder why that is.

lots of little ducklings
OBBâ„¢ -- Glad your foot is healing! I figured as much since you posted hiking pics recently, but I did wonder. Dd4 just folded Ds7's eyeglasses in half by jumping on him while they were violating Rule #672 ("No Wrestling Except with Daddy") and Rule #673 ("No Wrestling with Glasses On"). So much for weeding and reseeding the lawn this afternoon. It's off to order new frames. Thankfully tonight is Girls' NIght Out for me and a few besties.

texasmama
A dude came to get one of Nan's medical equipment pieces, and he ran into one of my trees. I have plenty. It's no big thing. Yesterday, the hospice nurse came. Nan's heart rate was 48, and her oxygen level was 85%. We have started some new meds that make her more cooperative with the nighttime caregivers. She did not threaten to slap the lady last night. She did point at my husband and say, "He's mine. He's my good man." She also remarked that she did not like ladies putting their hands on his leg. Yeah, that would be me, the homewrecking interloper. Alzheimers is a very odd journey. We are now having dh sit next to me a lot and call her Grandma every other sentence to help orient her. We join her world most of the time, but we cannot have her thinking that dh is her husband and insulting me while rubbing on his leg. It's just not okay for anyone, including her.
JoJosMom
Okay. I'm all caught up now. You people had me worried there for a bit, talking about curriculum and all. What was that all about? Okay. I'm leaving again. Nana is here and I'm driving back and forth to town constantly and we're going on a trip next week and I have work deadlines next week and the week after and trying to keep the short person on track is making me crazy.

texasmama
I just had to call and get a replacement prescription card for Nan. It involved me giving a lot of information and then in order to have it mailed out, she had to give her name, DOB, and zip code. She also had to tell that man that I could speak on her behalf. Between confusion and being hard of hearing, it was a "Who's on First" routine. But it is done. Go me. :)

Why do you use the incorrect word? Do you have ADD and are overcompensating by arranging things in your environment and schedule? Do you have anxiety or OCD characteristics? There's always the chance that the vet will say this is it so I'm pretty fried..... his downturn happened ~ 3pm yesterday. He can't walk atm but we celebrated him being able to actually stand this morning. Unfortunately today was a busy day with too much rushing around & kids needing rides & traffic jams on bridges... but I came home midd-day to take him for a stroller ride so at least he got to go & sniff the beautiful day (it's 20C and sunny). Not just a vision issue but not being able to keep track of where they are/will be so you might have a wreck. If you are using the wrong word accidentally, then it is beyond your control. It sounds neurological and maybe related to dyslexia, but I am not a dyslexia expert by a long shot. What is an example of this? Do you ever have any anxiety? I've seen all sorts of specialists. I just want to KNOW. If I knew I would learn more about it. Someday, if you are really, really bored and have thousands of dollars to spend, you could see a neuropsychologist for a thorough work-up, and that would likely give you some concrete answers. The schools are broad-brush at evals, and they are looking only through the lens of educational issues. A neuropsych would give the information you are looking for. The schools missed my son's major LD because they didn't need to look for it. There are many, many people walking around undiagnosed with all sorts of things, and they have learned to function just fine. BTW, I would want to know, too.

Procrastinating comes with being disorganized, which comes with ADD so you don't get a separate line item for that one. :D The oxymoron, or perhaps just a regular idiosyncrasy, is that the house can be a general mess, but small things are very organized. For example, I had my music cds organized on the shelf alphabetically by artist, then by date of release. Now, the dvds and books are organized by genre. Clothes in the closet by type and color. It is everything else that doesn't have a place that is a mess. And I've been traumatized by washing dishes as a child so relegate that job to oldest dd and dh. This means that 90% of the time, there are dishes in the sink until someone comes home to wash them (we have no dishwasher except bare hands).
