News says it is for Prime members who paid $99. I paid full price before the price hike ($79). Hope I am not excluded.

Looks like it will be basically what Spotify is.

I've got access and hasn't done $99 yet.

You can also download the songs to your device, apparently. :)

They have a bizarre definition of Christian Alternative. Fernando Ortega? Chris Rice? Debbie Boone? Really? Here's hoping they learn a little something about music genres very quickly or I'm going to have a hard time finding stuff I like.

It doesn't have as many songs as Spotify, but it looks like this will be a nice addition to Prime. It will also be nice not to have to listen to ads. It's for all paid Amazon Prime members—it doesn't matter which rate you paid.

From Amazon:

  • Prime Music is included with paid annual Prime memberships, 30-day Free Prime trials, paid Amazon Student memberships, and paid Amazon Mom memberships. It is not included during the free trial period for Amazon Student or Amazon Mom memberships, or for guests of Amazon Prime members.

I'm very productive when I put on some headphones and play my dance-mopping playlist! ;)

But first I had to search for music... have trouble downloading... rant about that... then discover that my kindle had not yet been updated... do some stuff while continually checking kindle... then start downloading madly when the "welcome" sign came on.  :D

Now my daughter is grooving to the sounds of the Pretenders as she cleans.

I can't believe we can download free music to the device. That is so awesome.  I found a bunch of stuff I had gotten rid of when moving, you know, CDs and LPs... we have a road trip coming up and this is going to make those 2 days of 7-hour drives so much more fun.
